5 million meters today since Aug 2006.

Very hard session was bitten by a spider on Christmas day which has really put me out of shape... Struggled to keep my pace down without my HR skying...

Nick,

Well done on the 5m - what type of spider was it and did it live to tell the tale?

Not sure but probably a red back - as I have quite a number of them around my bbq. Went out with the insecticide spray on boxing day!

Congrats on the 5 million metres, Nick. One of the few bonuses of our nasty winters in Edmonton is that we have very few venomous creatures (wasps and bees are the only ones that come to mind).

Nick - perhaps you should take a month of rowing while you are 'spider bitten' :D

6 million on the board

Post by GeorgeWeekes »

Six million metres today since October 2006. Not that I'm bragging, but you are probably the only people to appreciate what hard work that is. Told the missus, she said something about anoraks!! Still at 2 and half stone lighter its not all been in vain. As Del Boy would say, "This time next year, we'll be millionaires".   Happy new year to everyone, may it be a prosperous and healthy one.

George,

I can appreciate all the hard work that goes into your splendid achievement. You must feel fantastic lighter in weight than before. Days of rowing when you thought you could not do anything, rearranging your time to get the row in, sweating and sweating and pushing yourself...
You are a true Free Spirit. :D  =D>

Stan,

That is great!!!!

Ann

ps
I forgot as well to mention some how I passed 12 million lifetime the other week. :? Now we are in the Virtual team challenge. I hope to keep on putting on the meters.. darn teaching and orchestra commitments keep getting in the way of racking up more meters. I did a little shy of 120K this week. Need more hours in the day. Who can arrange that?

Anyway, I am planning to row in Toronto, Canada the first weekend in February in their CIRC's. This fast stuff is tough when one does long slow distance........

Hope to do well in my age group.. :?:
I am not getting older, just better. (not bad for a 74 year young lady)

Just noticed that I passed 9m lifetime metres last weekend. Haven't been adding anything this week due to 'man flu' :( , hopefully back on track next week.

Well done to all others who have passed milestones recently =D> =D>

Time for a 5000mile service then. I will change the legs (longer) and go for a more streamlined body I think.

A couple of more million metres in the ditch.

Gaye McOnie has just gone over 9 million and I passed 6 million. January helps when you each complete 400K+ metres in one month.

Keep smiling and keep rowing. Bum hurts and shoulders ache. I swear my arms are 2 inches longer.
