Okay, show me! I can only show you a few 22,222,222m. Time to celebrate? October 8, 2021 - AND! I descended into the underworld - not with the number 11,111,111m - but it was prophesied that I would reach that exact number - and on that day I would know the underworld. Now it's 22,222,222m - and the only mantra I hear over and over again is: Don't look back. Remember Orpheus. Row on! AND! RideOn!

Some of the numbers on here are incredible/inspirational (both in terms of monthly accumulation, e.g. near top of fall challenge table, and particularly in term of the lifetime/year-on-year meters).

Well I decided to do a slightly "contrived" workout today (see "what training have free spirits been doing today?" thread), as the necessary distance was about perfect for a long-ish workout. This meant that I got this on the nose (see attached image)...

The interesting/satisfying thing about endurance training/"developing your engine" (i.e. work capacity) is that distances/meterage that seemed formidable in the past become quite comfortable. I'm slowly developing with rowing what I used to have with cycling (particularly 2016-2019), though I'm obviously not going to get into a habit of doing 6 hour indoor rows (and arguably little benefit unless you're specifically training for an ultra-event), which is a relatively standard "long" weekend/cafe-stop type outdoor ride (though I'd say a ~3 hour erg row is probably pretty close in effort to a typical 6 hour outdoor bike ride when you factor in freewheeling and greater difficulty/inefficiency (and therefore higher training effect) of rowing). But I could get to a point where say a marathon distance row of 42km is almost "standard" as a long effort at a weekend. Not at that point yet though. Judging by the amazing monthly metres some people on here log, though, such distances must be very comfortable/routine for them... Impressive at any pace whatsoever.
