Any completed HM is a good one in my opinion. Getting an improvement is the cherry on top.

Tough W/O to end the week Spider.

I missed my timing to finish my HM week yesterday, so made up for it with a low key FM today .. . .

I looked at the meter board, and Ian's done about 1/5 of my total lifetime rowing in a single week. That is something else! Really, 150k in a week. WOW :)

Steady 30 minutes on the bike and a 2k run yesterday just to mix things up a bit. C2CTC today which I was quite pleased with: 2k-1 pace.

I don't make a habit of it Image

Today was:

Comparison to last time through was limited by lack of HRM trace :

Pretty rough to say the least, and slipped from target pace on the last two faster pace reps. That said, bit of an improvement from last time Image

Well done Ian. That looks like a tough one, and as you say, a great improvement over the last attempt.

Quite pleased - faster, lower HR and felt reasonable at the end. Slight tut for missing SR target though 🫣Image

Woke up and just knew that sprinting was not going to happen, so stuck to the plan:

Happy enough. This is meant to be a taper session before a 10k TT (which I won't be doing) so I may have a return visit tomorrow.

Any thoughts on moving our posts to the daily training thread?

Steady 3x10min at low (for me) HR and no straps to do a bit of a much needed form check.

I wasn’t counting, but pleased to be just one stroke off perfect for two of the three intervals and bang on for the other. #anal

Grrr. Same workout as yesterday. 1 stroke from rating perfection Image

Better distance than yesterday though. I felt a bit crap yesterday to be honest.

Hi guys, I am happy to post my wouts on the "what training thread" & keep this thread for PP sessions ( which I will be doing sporadically!!) As I was moaning on the new life thread about people posting it would be good to have more posts on the same thread & seems like a few people post on the other thread. As we 3 seem to post the most at present it would be good if we all post on the other thread, but obviously everyone make their own descision.
So I will post todays wout on the what training thread!! - see u there!.

Good to see all the action on the other thread. PP session for me today the dreaded 4x2k - one of the hardest sessions for me along with 4x1k.
wup - 2k
Time dist spm HR split
07:58.0 2000 28 158 01:59.5
07:56.9 2000 28 161 01:59.2
07:55.0 2000 29 162 01:58.7
07:52.1 2000 30 164 01:58.0
31:41.9 8000 28 161 01:58.8
CD - 2k
That was hard only managed to -ve split last rep by careful pacing & a sprint!!! Faster than my 5x1500 recently - usually this session is 2sec slower per split so I was right on the red line!!! Next PP session will be 4x1k!

It's funny you say that as I've been casually lurking/snooping in on this thread over the last several months and kept thinking to myself, "This Pete Plan thing sure is complicated!" I had no idea until just now that you guys were posting anything but PP routines... :D

I'm glad this was mentioned on the last page (which I skipped to).

Being new to the site (I found it through searching for UT1 UT2 AT calculator), I'm considering doing Pete's plan so I hopped onto this thread first. When skimming through the more recent pages, I noticed a lot of screenshots and posts of things I didn't recognize in the Pete's Plan summary I looked over recently.

I started wondering if I misunderstood the plan because some of those posts. #-o

While I like the longer distances in the regular Pete's plan, the Beginner Pete's plan weekly frequency seems to fit my schedule best. 6 days/week for the regular Pete's plan, 3 days/week with two [optional] days in the beginner's plan.

Welcome to the group and to the Pete Plan. There are lots of people around here with a lot of experience of the plan. Just ask if you need any advice or steers and post here as you make progress - it always helps with the motivation when you know people are interested in how you are getting on.

Should be a bit less clutterd now Pneuma as people are now posting on the "what training..." thread on the main forum. I will post here when I do a PP session but I only post the interval sessions. I have never done Petes recommended long rows in between invals sessions as he prescribes & now I try to vary things as nuch as possible to keep motivation. Good luck with the PP beginner plan.

I followed the 5 day version for a good while (link still in my signature), but these days I have a range of sessions - some Pete, some Fletcher etc.

Good luck and look forward to reading your results!

After yesterdays farce  wanted to do something hard but controlled to restore confidence a bit, so time for 4x1k Gulp!
Wup - 4k ( got interrupted & had to rewarm up!  )
Time dist spm hr split
03:47.5 1000 30 157 01:53.7
03:46.9 1000 30 160 01:53.4
03:46.2 1000 31 163 01:53.1
03:41.4 1000 33 165 01:50.7
15:02.0 4000 30 161 01:52.7
CD - 2k
Just what the doctor ordered. Started wee bit conservatively but paid off in the last interval. Makes for a possible 2k pace sub 1.52 Much happier with the pacing than yesterdays disaster!!!.
