Some of you may be aware that I like to write stories.
I have shared some ideas here and I have posted a real story. Sadly reaction has been largely absent which makes me think the ideas are not engaging or that the writing is poor - or both.
So I'm going back up the creative chain a little and asking for any stray thoughts etc that you may have on the following.
I was reading an article on the BBC today which reports a measles outbreak in Canada which has been traced to one individual. This individual was a member of a group who are known to eschew modern medicine and as such amongst whom vaccination rates are low.
That got me thinking.
If we had a world in which a super covid had decimated the population but left enough for communities to survive and - if not prosper - then at least begin the long climb to where we are now, how would they react to individuals or groups coming to potentially join them if they were not vaccinated, even if the efficacy of the vaccination or its dangers remained in question?
Would the community be justified in keeping newcomers in isolation until a mandatory vaccination was effective, even if that might harm them?
Would potential newcomers with valuable skills be treated differently and would that be justified?
What other conflicts/cooperation might arise with each community - old and new?
Opinions welcome
