Fall Team Challenge
Hi everyone,
I'd like to draw your attention towards the fall team challenge, running from Sep 15th to Oct 15th. Although you are already a member of team Free Spirits you need to register for this event via the teams tab in your C2 logbook: https://log.concept2.com/team. Deadline for signing in is Sep 30th 23:59 GMT, deadline for entering meters for this event is Oct 18th 23:59 GMT.
We are quite a large teams with currently 973 members. Last year we finished 5th overall which already was a great result (can't remember a better result for this challenge in the last years. Nevertheless, let's try to better that this year

Re: Fall Team Challenge
I'd be very surprised if the majority of that 973 are active, but nevertheless, it is an amazing milestone to have had nearly 1000 rowers affiliated at one time or another. I guess 18 years is a long time....

Am in and hoping to get over 100k in the month.
I think 200k might be a little too far for me.

Well done all
We seem to have a few big metre rowers that are not on the meterboard. Is there any way to invite them to join?

Re: Fall Team Challenge
I'm hoping to go past 100k by this Sunday after a few days away enjoying the walking in North Yorkshire.
I agree on the inclusion of rowers who are in the team but not signed up for the specific challenge.
Perhaps C2 should by default enrol everybody who has "Free Spirits" as their team and then allow them to join another team for a specific challenge if they wish?

Re: Fall Team Challenge
Graham, I admit that I have not understood why separate signing up is required for the team challenges as well as participation, but my observation was that unusually some people seem to have chosen FS for the Team Challenge who aren't on the ongoing meterboard!

Re: Fall Team Challenge
I've noticed that Iain.
I've also seen in the past some of those who do the mega metres be in a challenge until the last few days and then switch allegiance. That is also a practice that leaves a bad taste in the mouth.

Re: Fall Team Challenge
I thought that after the first 14 days you couldn't join another team? Of course all are free to leave and have their metres deducted.

Hmmm. That's a bit confusing isn't it! The table shows the number of full days remaining, which isn't the best way to do it.

Re: Fall Team Challenge
Nice page!
Two thoughts:
- I wonder why there isn't a link to this "working" web page from the FreeSpirits base page? Or have I missed it?
- Even though the Fall Team Challenge is a "team challenge", it would be nice to show the FreeSpirits ranking to the left of each name. It's like a mini, short term meterboard. I got off to a slow start for this challenge and I like to see if I've climbed up a few spots with a hard day's rowing...

In terms of adding the tool to the website. Because the tool is only used when the Fall and World Erg Challenges are running, the tool isn't something that is permanently on the website menus. At the bottom of each of the posts are links to the latest version of the scores and the standings of all of the teams. If you click on the link at the bottom of my last post you will see that the positions have now been added.

Cheers, will log on what training when have access to my computer. May have done a lot in a day, but nothing compared to what you have managed and coming off very little training pre-challenge this is doubly impressive
56 year old Lwt (in ability and in weight) trying to develop a technique that doesn't cause hysterics and continue to row regularly.
