September CTC Choice

Post by Iain »

Its our turn to choose the CTC in September. ANy thoughts on what we would like? Or shall we wait and see what is chosen for August?

I’d wait a month and then we can decide. I’m always a fan of CTCs that are not just simple distances (like this months 6k). At the same time I’m not a massive fan of rate restricted ones, they are always too complex. We could work out how long Freespirits has been going and do a theme around that maybe?

We started in 2006, so we are 18 years young. Maybe something around the number 18?

I think Jon's suggestion is more sensible, although why not 18 x 180 r1'?

PS just seen that the most likely row for Augu8st will be 3 x (8x20" r10S). So maybe something longer? How about 3 x 6min 2' rest? or 16', 5' then 6min with 2min rests (the date the club was founded 16/5/06).

Bump, if people could indicate which of the many suggestions they like or suggest more, then perhaps we can get to a shortlist?

Personally my vote is 16', 5' rest then 6'.

Given the very sprinty nature of this month I would go for something steadier and simple like your 3x6:00 2:00r or sticking with the '18' theme 10/5/3min 2:00r?

Hi all,

September is only four days away and I think it's about time that we make up our mind re the September ctc.

To speed things up I'd like to start a poll, including

3 x 6' / 2'r
10'/5'/3' 2'r
16' / 5'r / 6'
Athletes row, others just play games

My vote is for the last, but prefer them all to the sprint options!

Tako, I think you need to register it in the poll thread!

Thanks. Done.
Polls unfortunately do not work in TapTalk app, so had to go into a browser.

We are going to look a bit silly if we don’t post a CTC soon so I have taken the votes so far and will post on the C2CTC forum now.

It turns out that Peter had agreed that we would send in a submission after the poll closed tomorrow. I hadn’t realised this. Apologies for jumping in and submitting a response on behalf of the team. Lesson learned. I’ll leave things to others from now on.
