Amazing
Nearly 20 years since we met at Evesham Phillip, and I distinctly remember being inspired then. You are still at it

Congratulations!!!
So inspirational!!
Any secrets you can share on how to reach that age group, still being able to erg, and pull world records?
And I am not aware of many 90y old that are as active in an online forum.
You are a true inspiration!

Re: New age group:new targets
Thanks, guys, for your support and encouragement. This will spur me on for aiming at some more targets while I am still at the “youngest” end of the age group
Wolfie, I look back with nostalgia on the days of the Evesham Golden Mile and meeting you and other FS for the first time.
Tako, I have no secrets about rowing. I started it very late in life, having my first race at BIRC in 2003 when I discovered that rowing the 2K using the “fly and die” technique didn’t work
Plummy, I hope your long journey back to good health and fitness will not try your patience too much. Take care
I get on the erg twice a week and have never been much of a “metre muncher”, in fact it’s only been over the last four years that
I have worked up to 1 million metres per year.
Have a good season - all of you.

Well done, Pepe! Always a star.
I remember recruiting you to Free Spirits at BIRC 2006.
May you produce many more amazing rows, and collect a good haul of World Records!

Fantastic Philip, inspiring stuff, just hope it doesn’t raise Nonathlon targets too high for the rest of us!

I mean, 2:07/500 is fairly impressive for any average 50 year old off the street. Just saying.

Re: New age group:new targets
Not sure what has happened to the Nonathlon, how can a WR score 918 points? I suspect that no data has been entered for the oldest age groups and so the curve is off. You are being robbed sir!

Re: New age group:new targets
I have worked out that to reach the same points total I got for the Nonathlon 1k last season, I would need to knock 33 seconds off my WR. Even Clark Kent would be hard pressed to achieve such an improvement

Re: New age group:new targets
I do, well, I did, well, kinda sorta... (been a bit lax on it to be honest). That said, I think that it was set up for FS'rs who attended formal, recognised race meets/organised events rather than ad-hoc at home challenges, Having said THAT, I have no objection to changing the rules (if there were any) to recognise Pepe's incredible achievements (though I feel his entry is going to need a LOT more lines very soon)

Re: New age group:new targets
Philip,
Many congratulations on your fantastic achievements, looking forward to the whole set .
I'm 17 years younger and 27kg heavier than you and I'd struggle hitting some of these numbers.
Like Stumpy (Colin Bradley), Evesham golden mile was my first event, those were the days ☺!
