Re: Happy Birthday and Speedy Recovery Plummy
Awww - bless your cotton socks..
Had a nap (I seriously didn't get a wink of sleep last night owing to machinery making bing, bong and brrrt noises) so needed that. Feeling a tad refreshed. I know usually it's "the day after the day after" when you feel most sore so I'm expecting tomorrow to be a challenge and then get through the next 2 weeks ready for the consultant review and next stage of physio. For now, I have some very basis hip rolls and shoulder rolls plus some deep breathing stuff to work on. My uber-sharp top of left glute pain is still there ( ) but they say the inflammation and bruising from the can cause that plus the fact that the nerve has been being irritated for 6+ months so will need time to settle again - which might be weeks. Looks like it's a long haul job!
They say I can't lift anything above 1kg for 1~2 weeks (seems excessively light but I'll be a good boy). More news as I get more info.
Thank you all xx

Re: Happy Birthday and Speedy Recovery Plummy
I'd forgotten this thread existed but given I spotted it in some random scrolling and it's 14 weeks since the op I thought I'd drop a note to advise that although I still have a mild to middling "ache" moving from glute to upper/outer calf (never thigh) most of the time, it is controlled with simple paracetamol or ibuprofen now.
I've started rowing a bit now as well but find my tank is empty on as little as 1500m and have to rest, reset and go again. I'm happy with 10~12km a week for the time being.
Day to day, bar lifting anything "heavy" I'm doing everything I could before - therefore - so far, so good. The consultant stated it could be 6 months and even up to a year and recovery would still be ongoing. Let's hope so eh!

Well done good to hear you are doing well
Ive also been told full recovery from my op can be a year plus so we just need to look after ourselves, slow and steady wins our race
