Re: New ctc site
I thought your original solution was to give the higher of half the points of the boat above or its normal score to each boat (excluding the first that scores whatever it scores). That way ashore would get half of the Boat 4 points from last month. Thanks for fixing, as you say shouldn't be a big deal by the end of the month and we probably don't deserve to be afloat as we were floated by a lady that missed the cut!

Looking at it that way Iain, do you mean that the ashore boats from June would get 13 points - half of Boat 4 (rounded), and Boat 4 would get half of Boat 3- which is what is being calculated at the moment?Iain wrote: ↑Tue Jul 02, 2024 7:15 am I thought your original solution was to give the higher of half the points of the boat above or its normal score to each boat (excluding the first that scores whatever it scores). Re: New ctc site
OK. If I have understood you correctly Iain, the tool would basically go through our boats top-to-bottom and look at the boat score based on their position. If they would have scored more by remaining on score (i.e.50% of the score of the boat above) then allocate them that 50% score instead of their actual score. Continue all the way through our field. When it comes to ashore boats, allocate them half the score of the lowest scoring boat, the score of which is calculated above.
I've implemented this in the tool. now. As you can see, only the first two boats get ther actual score. Boats 3 and 4 get half of the score above them. Ashore rowers get half of the score of boat 4.
Once I got this working it actually made a lot of the code simpler. Whether the new code copes with the field as it evolves this month is another question!

Re: New ctc site
The new version of the tool is having a bit of a wobble (as I expected it might as this month progressed). I'll get it fixed, but not before next week.
In other news - we already have two boats afloat

I've had another go at getting this working properly. I'll keep an eye on it over the rest of the month.
Still two boats afloat and now 5 rowers ashore.

Just finished a 6K as part of the Rowlympics. Entered my time in the CTC chart as well and noticed something strange. Liefcat (Erik P) is both in the 2nd as the 3rd FS boat.

Re: New ctc site
Erik has two entries with two times on the CTC results table at the moment. No idea why.
If someone posts on the CTC Facebook page I’m sure they will have a look.

Re: New ctc site
I’ll post something. Do you know which is the correct entry for you Erik? You currently have an entry with 23:53.6 and another at 24:26.2

Re: New ctc site
The CTC folks have changed the layout of the 'past results' screens somehow. This has broken our tool. I'll get it fixed when I have some time to take a look. Hopefully it won't be a big problem.

Re: New ctc site
This is fixed. The layout of archived events is now different to the layout of live ones, so I had to add a bit of code so the tool can work out which it is looking at.
The final results for July are now loaded into the tool. I'll leave them there until Erik has had a chance to update the league table.
I see you were just 4.5 seconds short of my time Iain!

Re: New ctc site
Thanks for all your hard work Jon.
Yes, my SB would have beaten you, but the shingles and heat took their toll. Does mean I need to go again for 25’ in a month or 2 . Interesting to see which of us does better in Nonathlon this year as well
But delights of Tabatha first
