January CTC: Double December

Post by Liefcat »

The Gee Crew challenge for January is:
'Double December'.
1000m row with no restrictions other than a standing start.

Early attempt, so early I can't even enter it yet. Season's best, 3:32.8, so the first Nonathlon points of 2023 are there as well.

Happy New rowing Year everybody

Yep, still hate sprinting. I felt like I was drowning with about 250m left, but managed to up the pace slightly in spite of it.

New PB time of 3:34.6

I’ll enter it later as the CTC site still hates this iPad.

Well done Ian. Spider is away skiing and I have the lurgy. So you may be waiting for a while, and I would be feeling pretty safe if I were you.

That was never going to be pretty given the last couple of weeks of feeling bad. But took one for the team and got a time in anyway.

EDIT - Actually I shoiuldn't beat myself up over this. This is my second highest Nonathlon score of the season and 104 Metanonathlon points, so a good improvement on last season somehow

Given what's you've mentioned elsewhere, that first 200m and holding on is very impressive, but understood about the cough!!!

Finally got around to doing this month's challenge. Decided to do it with a few days to go so that I might be able to have another go at it. Very underwhelming at 4:12.7, but at least it gives us 4 rowers in another boat. Now all we need is two females to float those boats!

Well done all - never a nice session and I put it off as long as I could!

It’s been a mixed month of training so far, and so I figured that I’d start at (estimated) 2k pace and hopefully get faster rather than my usual fly n die

Happy with the result and a pace of under 1:40 :D

53, 6'2" and trying to get back to 95kg post hip replacement. Looking back fondly on past achievements I've no chance of repeating
