At the moment Boat 2 would have Michael and Chris. Anyone else? We have until the end of the month to start a second boat ( I think).

Michael, Chris, there is nothing stopping you rowing an event and entering a time as an individual while you wait to se if the boat fills up.

Put my first score in - 1048m (last year was 1067m). I never felt that I had any power and had a mini-wobble at half way but knew (as we have advised others often), that getting a score recorded is most important so I fuddled my way through to the end.

Is this like CTC where you can enter an improved score over the month or is it one entry and done?

Good work Plummy. As you say, getting a score on the door is the important part.

I'm talking Gaby and Ingrid into joining, I hope I'll be successful before month's end.

Thank you Dave for putting in an early score for the team!

Sorry - just seen this. If you've still room in a second boat, then please count me in (if not, no worries - my fault for not visiting the forum more often!)

Finished for today. Made it to 1055 mtrs, but this is after the WOD (4 x 3 min) and CTC. So improvement before the end of the month should be possible when I focus on this one.
Now time for a shower and then I'm going to watch my son playing football. Enjoy the sun.

For those interested in joining a second boat. I have created Free Spirits 2. Feel free to join and compete. There is no requirement to have a full boat in order to register a time. The rules don;t actually say what happens if you have less than eight people in a boat, but hopefully the boat will fill up before the 1st of October, which is when the boats are "locked" for the season.

So, if you have said you are interested in joining Boat 2 then feel free to board. If you are slightly interested, then I'd encourage you to join boat 2 and help to fill the crew.

After a lazy summer, I’ve signed on for boat 2. Im offshore for the next couple of weeks so will be late to post a time but let’s hope this will be the incentive to get back on the rower more regularly!

Good to have you back Louise. I did wonder whether you would join in. You're scores are always a real boost to the boat. Hopefully Boat 2 will be able to find a full crew.

Gabi joined Free Spirits 2 this morning, Ingrid is about to follow. With Louise already aboard Free Spirits 2 is a ladies only team at the moment (and a very competitive one) :D Maybe we find five more ladies?

Rob - Judging by those splits your row today looks very similar to my attempt… went off far too fast then tried to rein in it

The difference is that I baled out at halfway and decided to have a go another day

Huge kudos for hanging on in there - that must have hurt ^O^ ^O^
