CTC - Carole McNally Memorial
Just a reminder that it is the Carole McNally Memorial challenge on CTC today. 1402m from a standing start.
The CTC website has not been updated to record times yet, but I’m sure it will be at some point.
Good luck.

CTC - Carole McNally Memorial
It was hard enough doing the challenges on two consecutive days Huw, never mind in the same session!Huw Thomas wrote: ↑Mon Feb 14, 2022 12:14 pm CArole McNally Memorial row, then the CTC for me

Well done Huw - I don't envy you that session!!
Nice consistency Jon
Managed mine this morning - a little tough after too much red wine last night, but managed to negative split

Amazing continued return Mat (when does it stop to be a "return" ? )
First time on the erg since 19/1 for me. Went skiing and managed to bring covid back .. errgghh.
10 min warm up and
1402 - 5:01.3 - 1:47.4
Now coughing as if I still have full blown covid again

Yes, challenge was a bit late up on the site today, so 2 rows from me...
Best was 5:17.7, which is about as good as it can get for me...

Done mine. Find myself in the strange position of being first in the top boat on the CTC - not sure that's ever happened to me before. (Until Mat enters his time, anyway).

We ended with 6 boats. The 5 that were afloat were all in the top-10. Well done all.

Re: CTC - Carole McNally Memorial
Wow, that's fantastic!
It was a bit of a challenging challenge for me. We sailed out of Tampa, FL on 2/14 to start our 11-day cruise that had been put off multiple times due to the pandemic. I may have had a bon voyage cocktail or two, but I was determined to get into the gym and get that row in. I think my wife was a bit surprised, but allowed it!
I tried to enter my result every which way from my iPhone, but as noted in the Feb CTC thread, Safari isn't playing nice with the CTC website. I was about to give up when I remembered the ship also has a computer lounge, so off I went to find that and log in to "a real computer". Voila! Time entered (though no idea really how I did) and off to find another cocktail!
All in all, I'm happy to report that I got rows in on 8 of the 11 days and even set a season's best or two - I'll have to go over my logs more closely before I update them, but I think I must have been harnessing part of the power of the motion in the ocean somehow....

Now that‘s what I call determination, well done! I hope you enjoyed your cruise, the erging and the cocktails
