Just three scores so far for the month. It is a distinct possibility that I won't row this month. I've been hit by COVID and feel really rough. I may recover, but don't count on it, which means we would need everyone else to put in a time to fill the boat this month. [-o< [-o<

Thanks to Peter, Philip and Richard for getting a score on the board already =D> =D>

I've already banked 2 10ks this month 👍 all at R20-22 <75% might let the brakes off towards the end of the month.

Get well soon Jon 💪💪

Looks like we are making good progress. Thanks all, and thanks for the best wishes too. Fingers crossed I can squeeze a steady time in towards the end of the month. Not a hope of that right now though.

Hope you are starting to feel better Jon!

I haven’t been rowing much this month. The kids keep bringing germs home from school now that mask mandates are gone from Irish schools... But at least they’ve just given me colds and haven’t brought COVID!

So, anyway, I’ve rowed slowly so you don’t have to 😂. Gallingly, I was a minute and a half faster a few weeks back, but I don’t think I’m going to manage that kind of speed this month. But at least a seat is filled. Here’s to having you back on top form next month.

Louise

PS. Pepe you ARE awesome

With six seats filled, and Kevin and Chris both saying they will put in a distance, it looks like you have all have covered for me on this one. Thanks folks. =D> ^O^

I can see the irony of the bloke who does the nagging not doing any rowing. #-o

I still feel very ropey, which is getting really frustrating.

I've managed to improve my time a bit, having not rowed much of note for a couple of weeks having been under the weather.

Got my time, fraction over 39 minutes for a pb by over a minute. To be fair though, I have not done many hard 10k's

Normal approach to mid distance, keeping it controlled discomfort with a slight progression to the end for a final push. Shame did not find the extra .9 of a second, but will be able to do that next time

Thanks again for filling the boat this month folks. I had hoped to be feeling at least good enough to put in some sort of time, but it isn't going to happen.

Hopefully I won't also be defeated by the 500!

Onwards and upwards. You are all superstars. Just one more event and we will have filled a boat every month of the event =D> =D> =D> =D>

Thanks Mike. Naturally quite low at both top and bottom end, resting HR down in the low 40's, but do not have a massive top HR either. I also try and make sure I do not go into the red too early, have a tendency to go blow up if I do.

Spoken like my biological twin! :)

If I get to 160 or so for more than a couple of minutes, I feel like I'm going to keel over...

Oh, and nice 10K, sir!

Glad that someone else is the same. Low to mid 160's is very much peak effort and not for long! Can not ever remember being anywhere near 180, which i marvel at when I see some people's averages

We have just one time entered for this month’s 500m at the moment. Hopefully people are leaving this late and will pop in a time before the end of the month. I will definitely be able to complete this one (slowly).

Down with Covid at the minute, but I hope to be back rowing next week, will do an effort as soon as able to, but very unlikely to be quick!

Thanks Jon, I hope so too, but even if not great I will manage at least a slow 500m, glad it is not the 10km this month! Sadly it has gone to my chest so not expecting to do much hard rowing until that has cleared properly

So sorry to hear that Chris. Hope you’re starting to feel better. I’ll get a score in before the end of the month. Haven’t had much time for rowing this month, but I seem to have managed to hold on to a bit of fitness with my intermittent efforts and planning to rely on willpower again 😀

That’s great Louise. Hopefully we will be able to fill 8 seats by the end of the month, and then we can have a bit of a rest from IRL

It is done. I went for the "row faster than you know you can and hang on for dear life" philosophy. It pretty much worked :D

You clung on to that stroke rate right to the end Louise - major kudos for that!
