Cover for Model C

Post by FlbrkMike »

Hello All,

This has probably been answered here before but I can't find anything, so I figure I'll start it up again.

I have a Model C rower (bought new in 1994!!), which has been in my garage since Day 1 (not the same garage since then, though). I find that I need to move it outdoors at least temporarily. I live in Southern California, so the weather is sufficiently dry and it will be under a shade structure, but I still want to cover it when not in use.

I have looked on the Concept 2 website, and the cover that fits Models A-D is not in stock and no information on if and when it might be. The cover for Model E will not fit the older models.

Does anybody know of a decent third party brand that would work? I don't really want to just throw a tarp over it, but I will if I must.

Thanks in advance for any help.

So I sent an email to C2 to inquire. Apparently they have the cover, just not available online.
I'll be calling them tomorrow morning (closed now).

That's good news. Hope it's not too expensive!

My new cover finally came yesterday. It cost $55 from Concept 2. I also ordered new footpads and a new chain guide.

I moved my erg outdoors from the garage last week.
This is what I look at now while I row. It's a much nicer view than the inside of my garage. I should have done this years ago...

The cover looks great. The view looks even better!

Unfortunately the pool isn't long enough to row in.

Barely long enough for lap swimming.

Thanks Dave. We installed it 20 years ago when we still had kids at home. They’re both gone but we still get a lot of enjoyment from it.
