Devon Indoor Rowing Championships Sept 16

Post by Recess »

Hey everyone,

Just a quick one to say I won the lightweight event at the DIRC yesterday! 17:36.6 was a nice PB to get (would have loved sub 17:30, but wasn't to be.

My blog has a full report on it if you're interested?

A great event, hopefully it'll keep growing.

Congratulations John! Cool write-up too.
That was a very close weigh-in. How would your time have done in the hwt category?
Is that event organized by Sam, seeing that it's in Devon?

Yeah, that was Sam's event. When you look at all the promotion he puts into Fitness Matters, it's no wonder he has so many members. But it's true that if you put in the effort (and are successful yourself!) people will gravitate.

Chris Chapman won the heavyweight in 16:41.x I think - so would have been in the shower by the time I'd finished! Sam wasn't far off that himself, deciding to do the entire thing at r24 because he still isn't fit after picking up an illness. Incredible...
