Meterboard and the C2 update

Where should the web site go - what should we do? Who has the time between rows?

Paul Victory wrote:That's interesting about people dropping off the meterboard. Maybe the revised layout of the C2 website makes it easy to accidentally delete your affiliation. I know I accidentally unranked one of my SBs the other day and had to reinstate it.

The reason I'm mentioning this is because I noticed that Martin Melchner, who was just above me on the Free Spirits meterboard, disappeared from the listing a few days ago. I clicked on his profile on the C2 honor board and he is still showing Free Spirits as his team. I wonder should I send him an email via the C2 website or does anyone on this forum know him, as I certainly don't want to hassle him if he has decided to leave the team for any reason.

Hi Paul thanks for missing me.
I fell ill and had to stop rowing for a couple of days.
Now I'm back and wanted to check me results on the meterboard my name was gone.
To get back I tried to affilliate again but suddenly there are three different Free Spirit Teams in Concept2 Log.

I took the one where I had to apply so hopefully I will be on the meterboard again.
I would be greate to be part of the Free Spirit family again.

Cheers
Martin

Great that you stopped in to say Hello, Martin!

Thomas, maybe Stan... if others were dropped, and may not know why, is it worth a team email?

Welcome back Martin. Good to see you racking up the meters again - I presume that means you're fully recovered.

Martin - you need to affiliate to the team shown using this link - http://log.concept2.com/affiliation/1397/season/2016

I have added the metres for the holiday challenge. It was a bit of a blood bath because I am no longer allowed to sort the challenges by affiliation. I have instead just pulled the data from the main affiliation page. I cannot easily show 100k/50k challenges.

Can't wait for the API...

Thomas - everyone seems to have a Christmas Tree. Very generous, but I suspect not what you intended #-o

While we're on the topic, how about a snowman this year instead...............I was joking!!

Thanks again for sweating over this =D> =D> =D> =D> =D>

Hopefully fixed now. And a bloody snowman... Image, AND the Forum Follower achievement, AND you should get the Christmas hat if you post a row on the 24th/25th or 26th

er.....it may just be me, but I see an awful lot of snowmen, which I have to say is a nice improvement, but still not quite what you were after. Looking forward to the hat though

Thomas - are you awarding awesome snowmen to anyone having a bash or for completing at least 100k? If the former then it's working just fine, if the latter then it's awarding for the former.

The challenge page says "Row and/or ski 100,000 meters or 200,000 meters from November 26 to 11:59 p.m.December 24".

Thinking about it, that means you could actually end up with a snowman and a hat if you do the challenge on the 24th! If I manage that can I have a snowman wearing a hat?........I'll get my coat #-o

Oh, duh, good point. I'm currently just reading the challenge metres from the main FS board, not the honour board. This is obviously wrong, but getting from the honour board was a bloody nightmare. Not quite sure what to do at the moment. Will have a think, but most likely will kill the snowman whilst I do. It will have to wait until tomorrow.

I don't have a snowman and neither does Richard ... :-({|=

Okay. Okay. I admit that we did think to begin with, that the previous snowmen were Daleks ...  " We should have gone to SpecSavers. " " Exterminate :!: "

Thank you Thomas for your continued hard work. 8) :) =D>

Good spot. Fixed I think [-o< (it was giving up if it found a page with no Free Spirits on it - a legacy of the old system where I was allowed to sort by Club).

I was confused why you are not getting Forum Follower  - you clearly have a C2 ID in your profile and have looked at the meterboard... But I think I worked it out.

Don't worry about it Thomas - you've had quite enough to deal with already - in fact you've been ' snowed under '.

I was looking at the meter board and feeling sad today. I am stuck in a difficult position. I really like to keep all my meters, both OTW and on the erg on my concept2 log, and I really like to work hard in the winter to pile up the erg meters and climb the meter board. But I feel like a cheat and a fraud right now because the meter board is giving me credit for my OTW meters.

I was wondering if there is a way to add a way to enter a number of meters to deduct manually from totals on the meter board profile page? I would be happy to figure out all my OTW meters and enter it in so the meter board reflects only the true erg total. Otherwise, I guess I need to pull out if the meter board fun.

Hmmmm. That would be possible, if a fair bit of work, but I am optimistic that when we get the c2 api they will include OTE in the data sent. At least that is what they said. So hang in there.
