This is hard work - I'm in a gym entirely on my own

43Mm metres rowed. Re-setting the bar much lower now. Getting too old and brittle for this malarky

Maybe you could start singing aloud while rowing then - reverberate across the gym :D
Keep going, plummy!

Not alone Plummy - remember the virtual crowd watching every move, and willing you on with all their might - time to hallucinate our faces, watch us cheering you on, and sing and talk to us, and not give a monkey's who may walk in. You've done a cracking 80,000 metres so far today and it's only mid afternoon! You're allowed to do whatever it takes to get through! =D> =D> =D>

I know you will be sitting there rowing but also working out what all potential outcomes are for the next few hours.

What time is the flight tomorrow? What time will you have to leave in the morning? Can you fit in any rowing tomorrow before the flight? If not, just think of the forthcoming rest as enabling you to power through the last bit at home. Or here if you need.

Is it worth checking whether your particular flight is running late, and then row in the meantime, to get to the airport as close to take off as possible? Or is that an impossibility? Tell me to butt out if I am talking rubbish as usual. Just trying to throw some ideas into the mixing pot.

Is there any chance of extending the 11pm deadline? Begging would be ok?

Hang in there plummy. Brutal stretch of rowing, but from this side it shows as so much incredible progress! Had to duck in and check in from coffeeshop wifi to see how you are and the answer is "still alive! and going strong!" I hope the travel plans work out and hang tough for those last 60k. You've got this. Great job. Going off grid but sending thoughts &wishes nevertheless!

Latest update suggest that he can stay until around 4 a.m. local time (3 a.m. our time) and head straight to the airport. With just over 54k to go based on the latest update, that should be achievable by our hero, provided he can stay awake that long.

You can do it Dave! ^O^ ^O^ ^O^

Dave, it's so close now you can touch it. Just get it finished and then rest/sleep/celebrate.

That is so exciting! He is really ticking away the meters, which takes incredible determination at this point in the game.
