May's results have been entered. Matthew and Lesley still not giving in an inch.

Busy busy busy...Sorry for not updating last month, two months added now. Ian overtook Lesley, but still pretty close in the top.
A couple of new entry's over the last months. And, two reentering after a long time: Jill and Andrew, welcome back.
And good luck with the pyramid, must be fun, but first on holiday for a week.

Thanks for the update Fred!
Just wanted to extend the welcome back to Brit as well.
My competitive nature is struggling with seeing me moving downwards on the table, but I know it is for the greater good

And again I missed a month, but the scores for August and September have been entered. Which didn't change that much in the overall standing. One reentering participant who had rowed several CTC's before 2013. Welcome back Odd Geir Aarrestad
Matthew still #1, somehow I think that won't change much.
Like to wish you all a lot of fun with October's 200 mtr. Gone before you know it!!

Re: Free Spirits CTC Participation and Leaderboard
Quite an impressive score for boat 1 this month. It shook the top 3 a little bit up, with Lesley taking over the second spot. My guess at the moment is is that the 10K might no be that popular, however, it's a standard distance and the Holiday challenge is coming up, so it might surprise me.
The Aarrestad family certainly has done well. Welcome back to Cathrine and welcome to the fresh starter Trygve. I'm glad I can write it down and don't have to pronounce it.
Personally I don't know whether I'll row a 10K this month. Had a minor excision in my back two weeks ago which made me stop rowing for a moment, and I'm going on holiday in a couple of weeks, so there won't be much time to get up to speed again for this. But maybe I'll just row an easy 10K.
Good luck with this month's challenge. The December update might be a little late since I plan to come back from holidays on December 15th.

Re: Free Spirits CTC Participation and Leaderboard
After rowing last month's challenge, The Argentinian, I've been to Argentina (and Chile), returned last weekend and now entered November's results. Two completely new starters: B Gahn and Paul Corrigan, welcome both. And good to see Gouldilocks back on the board.
Unfortunately no entry from Lesley, which lead to her dropping out of the top 3. I think that saying Matthew will end up on the #1 spot again this year is pretty safe, having entered a result for this month already. Numbers 3 and 4 are pretty close, let's see what happens there.

Thanks as ever for doing this Fred. My 'rightful place' has slipped downwards a boat as stronger lightweights have joined the challenge.fkoene wrote: ↑Tue Dec 19, 2023 4:59 pm After rowing last month's challenge, The Argentinian, I've been to Argentina (and Chile), returned last weekend and now entered November's results. Turnout this month is quite low at the moment with just 12 rowers and a single boat afloat. I hope to have another attempt before the end of the month, given my last attempt was really just to put in a time while recovering from a nasty cold. But right now I need that snowman on the Meterboard!

Re: Free Spirits CTC Participation and Leaderboard
I hope everyone survived a few days of gluttony with family and friends. Having registered to attend Wrich in Prague in person I'm focused entirely on the training plan. It's a bit of a long haul and for the hubby and I, it starts to add up. I feel it warrants pretty much sole focus, so the joy of CTCs will be on hold. If I can paddle through one without upsetting the training balance then I'll put in a score. Apologies to those sitting in waiting boats, but I'll be back in full after Wrich.

Fred, I've just realised that the CTC tool refreshes itself at the start of each year. If you need the December scores then you can look here -> December 2023 Points

Re: Free Spirits CTC Participation and Leaderboard
Thanks, Jon. That certainly helps a lot. And congratulations with rowing your 100th CTC
And the winner is: no surprise of course, Matthew, congratulations. #2 and #3 remained the same, Lesley dropped a spot, but I am certain you'll do great in Prague, Lesley. Lots of success over there next month.
Congrats to Peter as well, who overtook me (is that English??) this month, 4 points ahead of me Well deserved Peter
I think it's worth mentioning Steve has finished #210, Peter #175, nice round figures, and quite a number both, well done.
Hopefully 2024 will show some great rowing results, all the best everyone, stay healthy, stay safe.

Re: Free Spirits CTC Participation and Leaderboard
Whilst this is a 'table' and being 1st is better than being 2nd I'm a little saddened to see that Dave is injured and not able to participate
On a much more positive note, congrats to Matt once again for his amazing consistency and Jon for the 100 milestone
Finally, of course your English is correct Fred, and thanks for keeping us updated

I definitely agree with this. Hope you can be back soon, Dave. Very carefully in the beginning no doubt, but hopefully you won't be gone too long.Wolfmiester wrote: ↑Fri Jan 05, 2024 11:08 am Whilst this is a 'table' and being 1st is better than being 2nd I'm a little saddened to see that Dave is injured and not able to participate

So happy to be in the top 10 overall in 2023
Not knowing what the future brings, but definitely gonna take a long time before I´m near top 10 again...

Sometimes just being healthy is worth more than being in the top ten (or top anything) . I hope you are still making forward progress Erik

Re: Free Spirits CTC Participation and Leaderboard
I've started a new year in the board. Always slightly a bit more work, adding columns to the running totals sheet as well, but it's there.
First of all a question for Jon: are these scores correct?? I don't know exactly how things are calculated anymore, there are a lot of participants this month, but the scores are extremely high on the C2CTC Analyser page.
We start 2024 with two newcomers, Ruediger and Frans, welcome to the club.
Final remark: I'm quite proud of being in boat 1 this month. Have some troubles with one of my feet the last couple of weeks, heel spur, so now I mainly row using one leg, the other just for balance. This month I won't be able to row very fast.
Final final remark: don't forget Feb 14, the Carol McNally Memorial.
Good luck everyone, this year.

Re: Free Spirits CTC Participation and Leaderboard
340's seem really high. The Jan challenge only had 193 boats (155 floated), so it doesn't seem from my reading of the post back in Jan 2023 that you could get more than 192 pts. I mean, I'm not complaining, haha.
