God. Don't mention rugby. England seem to be in semi-terminal decline.

Nice to see the ABs are doign their usual "peak a year before the World Cup" trick. They should be nicely overcooked come France 2007.

44 years young and still playing, :) i had the pleasure of playing against Shelford a few years ago, (88 ) when he toured with the NZ Services and i was then on the bench :( in 93 when the British Combined Services played the full touring side and we only just lost 13 - 3 so i have a little bit of knowledge!!!!

Fighting talk Sir Slug. I wish I had your confidence in our boys. That said, I expected NZ to win last time round until they cracked under pressure from the Aussies. This time round they're looking mighty good though. But then, maybe the pressure of that was what did for them in 2003. They looked lost when the game started going against them.

Who knows.

But England's build up this time round is terrible compared to last time. Remember Fortress Twickenham???? What would we give for that form now. We look like a side with a coach who hasn't got a clue, and a squad of players who don't gel and don't deliver to their potential. Maybe he's been taking notes from the bonkers Swede?!?!
