Re: Name that tune
Sounds Bon-Jovi-ish or Guns and Roses - not a clue about the song title.

Good guess Paul. It’s Bon Jovi.
Here’s the opening couple of lines.

Re: Name that tune
At this stage, I have to accept that nobody knows Bed of Roses by Bon Jovi.
As Paul G came closest, I think he should put up the next song.

Re: Name that tune
Thank you Paul - it's not that often that I recognise a lyric straight away.
I have just been watching Fred Astaire and Rita Hayworth dancing to this song. Brilliant editing. Please, no googling.
' Been a long, lonely, lonely, lonely, lonely, lonely time.'
Paul V, I hope that they were happy ones.

More clues:
It's been a long time since I did the stroll
Ooh, let me get it back, let me get it back
Very famous English rock group.

Re: Name that tune
Well, I know it's LZ, but I've always had difficulty remembering their song titles. They're generally not as straightforward as they could be...

Re: Name that tune
Ron, spot on with the name of the group. The song title consists of three words which describe a music genre. Think the fifties perhaps.

Re: Name that tune
There doesn't seem to be any point in giving more clues, so the answer is Rock and Roll. As Ron was correct about it being Led Zepperlin, I will hand the baton over to him. Okay Ron, away you go.

Dear Mr Stumpy, being your senior by four years, I am willing to forgive any youngster who has stepped out of line.
In future though, please remember that women are always right ... even when they are wrong. xxxx

Re: Name that tune
Been on a golfing trip the last couple of days. Here's the preceding line. I'm sure we've all heard this song many times.
I was surprised to see it hadn't been posted here before.

Re: Name that tune
LoL, sorry for the misdirection, Peter. Ian had the right of it - it was a major hint as to the band name. With the band name now known and Plummy's latest super-hot guess (as in the old game, hotter is closer, colder is farther away), I'll give the opening lines to see if anyone can zero in:
I'm rolling thunder, pouring rain,
I'm coming on like a hurricane.
White lightning's flashing across the sky.
You're only young but you're gonna die.
