A bit too UK centric that one I think (a Lisa Stansfield hit).

Lets try a very well known lyric… but what’s the title?
“Just like a white winged dove”

As far as I know, the title of this Stevie Nicks song is White Winged Dove.

Although it always sounds to me like "wide winger".

Or, on even further thought, how about The Edge Of Seventeen?

Sorry it has taken me a while to choose another tune. Even with an extra day, I am not sure how well known this one is! #-o

Good lovin' gone bad

One last try:

"It's so damn easy, when your feelings are such
To overprotect her, to love her too much
And my mind goes back to a girl I left some years ago (who told me)
Just hold on loosely
But don't let go
If you cling too tight babe
You're gonna loose control"

Once again it looks like I stumped the band. #-o

And, once again, I included the name of the tune in the last set of lyrics! ](*,)

I may have to resort to bolding. :-k

Gave up and Googled it. Never heard the song or of the band. It charted in the USA (very well) 44 years ago but did nothing anywhere else so that's probably why everyone is stumped.

It sounded a bit "The Cars" - ish to be honest

So then telling you that it was by 38 Special will not be of help?

Maybe Wolfie will take his hint and run with it.

Not in the slightest - never heard of them. I suspect their music never made it over the pond.

Obviously the title is Hold on Loosely then?
38 Special does ring a very feint bell, but the song does not.
Edit: now I’ve listened to it, I have heard it before. It it’s certainly not played very often over here.

I kept ending up singing "Sweet Little Mystery" by Wet Wet Wet which is clearly wrong but finally I turned that off and got to Phil Collins - I Missed Again??
