Fred, although I'm not a knight in shining armour and Peter is certainly not a damsel in distress, I am going to do my best to ( hopefully ) save him. Is it ' She's not there ' by The Zombies?

Re: Name that tune
You absolutely saved him. Years later the song was also done by Santana but personally I definitely prefer the original version.

Thank you Fred.
Let's see how this one goes:
But I couldn't find a way
So I'll settle for one day to believe in you

Re: Name that tune
More clues me thinks.
British-American rock group formed in London in 1967.
First verse minus the last line:
If I could turn the page
In time then I'd rearrange just a day or two
Close my, close my, close my eyes
But I couldn't find a way
So, I'll settle for one day to believe in you
For all you cockneys out there, this is the truth and I am not telling ' porkies '.

Times up. It was ' Little Lies '. ( by Fleetwood Mac )
This is a Golden Oldie which I hope everyone will know.

I think the next line is ..."I'm the one you need"...
But I can't quite place the title or the singer, driving me mad!!

Re: Name that tune
It’s not “Walk Under Ladders” is it?
Maybe that was just the album.

I'm having a bit of an op tomorrow so someone else is welcome to step in with the next one - maybe you Wolfie because you were nearly there on this one

Didn’t see you post until just now Plummy.
Lying in bed this morning I had a flash of inspiration at 06:46 and “Drop the Pilot” finally came to me! I said it was driving me mad
Happy to put the next one up, good luck with the op Dave.

What went wrong, with our love?
I know it's the next lyric and not the title.

Re: Name that tune
If the lyric were "but I like it" rather than "and I like it", I would have said Only Rock And Roll.
