Fred, although I'm not a knight in shining armour and Peter is certainly not a damsel in distress, I am going to do my best to ( hopefully ) save him. :fswink: Is it ' She's not there ' by The Zombies?

You absolutely saved him. Years later the song was also done by Santana but personally I definitely prefer the original version.

Thank you Fred. :)

Let's see how this one goes:

But I couldn't find a way
So I'll settle for one day to believe in you

More clues me thinks.

British-American rock group formed in London in 1967.

First verse minus the last line:

If I could turn the page
In time then I'd rearrange just a day or two
Close my, close my, close my eyes
But I couldn't find a way
So, I'll settle for one day to believe in you

For all you cockneys out there, this is the truth and I am not telling ' porkies '. :fswink:

I think the next line is ..."I'm the one you need"...
But I can't quite place the title or the singer, driving me mad!!

It’s not “Walk Under Ladders” is it?
Maybe that was just the album.

It was "Drop The Pilot".

I'm having a bit of an op tomorrow so someone else is welcome to step in with the next one - maybe you Wolfie because you were nearly there on this one

Didn’t see you post until just now Plummy.
Lying in bed this morning I had a flash of inspiration at 06:46 and “Drop the Pilot” finally came to me! I said it was driving me mad 😊
Happy to put the next one up, good luck with the op Dave.

If the lyric were "but I like it" rather than "and I like it", I would have said Only Rock And Roll.
