I really don't want to be outdone by the old man of the south so I grew a pair and managed 15043m tonight and weighed in at a mighty 68.8kg - I sooooo hope that's enough.

43Mm metres rowed. Re-setting the bar much lower now. Getting too old for this malarky

OY, less of the south  and my left leg weighs more than you do

I reckon you have done enough with that =D> :D

Nice effort Dave, once I get these metres out of my legs I'll have a real go-you know I will

I'd like to try this over the weekend. I've never done a 60 minute piece. How many seconds would you add to your 30 minute piece split?

You'll get more accurate answers from the statistician gurus on this forum than from me but my 30 minutes SB was at 1:56.00 and my hour was 1:59.6 - so about 4~5 seconds - ish?

If you apply Paul's Law (which states that you slow down by 5 seconds per 500m for each doubling of the distance), you get a reduction of around 4.7 to 4.8 seconds per 500m, depending on your pace over 30 minutes.

Maybe Paul starts off too fast. :D

Or maybe I don't put enough effort in early on. :(
If I'd known I was going to live this long, I'd have taken better care of myself.

OK, I've made you wait long enough, plummy. :fswink: Here is the proof that your second attempt was enough to get you top spot:

Glad to get some exercise after arriving home yesterday from a 10 day coach tour, organised by Probus, through the Southern Highlands of New South Wales and the Sapphire Coast. Excellent weather, fine scenery and not forgetting of course some retail therapy - both Hazel and I indulged in the latter.

60 minutes produced 13179m

Did an hour on the 24 hour relay but wasn't expecting to be posting in here as well  . Full of stress after two frustrating days at work I managed to blast out a very messy PB.

Thanks Dave.

I'm sure you've won this challenge. =D> =D> =D> 1:55 isn't quite enough for me. It should have been 1:52.5. It hasn't been my month, row-vice. Too long rests between rows and therefore too little rowing. But I'm still happy that I was able to hold on today as it was damn hard halfway in. :~c
