Re: Signature generator in beta
BTW I'm loving Stan's signature at the moment [What?]. It is because the default is NOT to tick any of the columns at the top (this is because I am not clever enough to have them default to ON the first time you arrive, but then remember if you have UNselected them later. It is possible - I'm just not clever enough at the moment.)
Looking at this I suspect that plummy has no % because there is something up with his IE9, since his syntax on the times is perfect.

Re: Signature generator in beta
I'm working on a version that uses a database to remember all the values. Much simpler really and will work in all browsers. Will be released later.

Re: Sig image generator rewritten and in Beta 2
New version is now complete and ready for testing. Should be much better and the numbers should be there in any browser. I am still confused about the logging in issues so report any here.

Re: Sig image generator rewritten and in Beta 2
Not quite the same for me. I've entered all the numbers three times and asked it to overwrite the old code and get this:
as below. The code line remains exactly the same though I have changed one or two of the dates for PB's

Re: Sig image generator rewritten and in Beta 2
Still doesnt work. Entered all the data again. The preview showed everything looked ok. Copied the signature address to my signature and still just getting "what".

Re: Sig image generator rewritten and in Beta 2
Tried again and all the data is still there. Just doesnt appear in my signature.
I pressed overwrite again and got the following message:
Parse error: syntax error, unexpected '}', expecting ',' or ';' in /home/freespir/www/www/fs/signatures/siggen.php on line 183

And immediately after submitting the above message, the signature appeared. No idea why.

Re: Sig image generator rewritten and in Beta 2
Sorry Stan, I was debugging - it is "working" again now. I think I am getting there, but it clearly has issues with you!
If you want to help me, use this version of the page:
http://www.freespiritsrowing.com/fs/sig ... debug=true[/b]
Then PM me the green text at the bottom of the page.
One thing to try would be
1) Delete cookies for Free Spirits (you'll need to log in again). See: http://www.aboutcookies.org/default.aspx?page=2
2) Start from scratch...

I think there are some problem with the percentage of the rows. I think they are to low? Check it out your self. If 8545m is my 100%, the 8189m, certainly should be 100/8545 and x with 8189 to get the result of 95.83% (and not 88%) I can't figure out this mathematic calculation
Also my 1:24 on 500m is 7.8% better than my 1:26.3 which gives no meaning when you know there is only 2.3 sec between them and 84 is 100%. Something is wrong

Re: Sig image generator rewritten and in Beta 2
Read the page Mikkel - it is % of POWER not time or distance. This is the "Mike Channin" method and I like it.
1The SBvPB Power shows how close you are to your PB in power. It will be calculated automatically when you have entered PB and SB times and then clicked (or tabbed) out of the field. You MUST use the format h:mm:ss.s for times and 0,000m for distances but it is quite forgiving. 6:45.2 and 7,654m would be fine, but it would accept 6:45 and 7654 too. If the table does not recognise your format then the SBvPB field displays a hyphen.

Anyone want any different colours? Don't say transparent (in the too hard bin at the moment... one day).

Re: Sig image generator rewritten and in Beta 2
I had an idea about this - why not keep all the data each time you save it, and then can plot progress over the year(s). Just typing it here as an aide memoir...
Also it would clearly be good to have the ability to hide PBs whilst keeping them in the table, and also to have custom headings for rows and columns.
I have rather run out of steam on this at the moment though.

What you've done so far has been brilliant, Thomas, and much appreciated. =D> Take a break and come back to it in a few weeks with energy levels renewed.Thomas W-P wrote:I have rather run out of steam on this at the moment though.

Re: Sig image generator rewritten and in Beta 2
Ah but I keep looking at the boxes and thinking how nice it would be if you could customize their colours . I've already got it storing every save, so rolling back can be enabled one day and graphs of progress when I have the oomph. I like the idea of custom labels and date too. But Halloween is our wedding anniversary and we have a huge party for the kids this year so I'll have a break.

Re: Sig image generator rewritten and in Beta 2
I think that this is utterly brilliant Thomas =D> =D> =D>
The C2tweetcrew sig that I've been using also takes Lifetime metres and Season metres from the C2 logbook. Is this a possibility? I think it's a nice feature.
I think the SB v PB power calculation is inspired

Thank you Hope you like the new features.Doc RowSlo wrote:I think that this is utterly brilliant Thomas =D> =D> =D>
If you mean grabbing the data in real time and updating the image each time it is displayed, er, no. But what do you mean? I can't envisage your old sig.Doc RowSlo wrote:The C2tweetcrew sig that I've been using also takes Lifetime metres and Season metres from the C2 logbook. Is this a possibility? Thank Mike Channin. His idea and what inspired me to look at it. He really thinks about these things!Doc RowSlo wrote:I think the SB v PB power calculation is inspired
I am thinking of going live/official. Anyone got any more bugs for me?
