I have very strong (and probably unpopular) views on this but it's probably worth the more moderate having a say?

Personally speaking, I am totally indifferent to the event and I'm finding the hype a bit grating. Then again, if I was getting a day off work, I might be prepared to put up with some hype, but I think I might be spending my time on an erg rather than in front of a TV.

Speaking as a moderate Republican, I don't really give a .........

Our Royal Family are an anachronism IMO but probably do a good PR job for UK plc. A tad expensive........and as in-bred as they come, mind;-)

I've no issue with the couple - he seems to have his head screwed on and she's a bit of a babe to be honest - so good luck to them. But that's where it ends for me. The BBC and rest of the media appear to have utterly lost it in ramming every single tiny detail of the event down our throats for what seems like weeks now. You just can't turn on a TV without someone, somewhere try to associate what they are saying with the damned event..

Weather - let's hope it's nice for the wedding......

Travel - let's hope there's no delays if you are travelling to London for the wedding.....

10 people were murdered today... unfortunately they won't be able to watch the wedding now

Double Glazing/car insurance... special deals to help "celebrate" the wedding.... for Pete's sake, get a grip.

I'm sooo bored with it and I'll be glad when it's all over - but of course - then we'll have hours of prime time just spent speculating when they are going to get down to it and produce offspring and the whole circus will start all over again.

Go on Webberg - spill the beans. What do you have to say (you love a good rant). Keep it clean enough in case any youngsters read it though.

No dont give a a shit either in fact I'm working all day so will be making loads of loud noise all day good job I'm working in the middle of Herefordshire with no neighbours to upset. I do wish the happy couple all the best of luck though as they will need it.

On that note, and being in the tourism game, I'm really quite pleased with the extra coverage and higher profile Anglesey has received since the royal couple settled here, but perhaps I'm biased

Isn't it nice that there is a couple out there who have been together for so long - and still be happy about it, and are even prepared to commit to each other for a bit longer?

Isn't it lovely to see so many smiles in the media? I for one am pleased with the change from war / terrorism / strife. I know that real life is not a bed of roses, but it is good to see the better bits of it occasionally. The happy couple do actually appear to be happy themselves. (To any one who says "I could be happy with their amount of money" I say - you don't need an awful lot of money to be happy - it's a state of mind and a way of thinking.)

Inbred? I don't know that many people who can fly a helicopter. Getting your head around aviation law is not exactly inbred territory. Given the lack of knights on white chargers these days many a young lady would settle for a helicopter pilot - particularly if he were a future king too!

I know I'm probably falling for the marketing ploy - but it is great that there is a heavy emphasis on British food, flowers, etc. The idea of a "British" country garden in the Abbey is fun and all yet still all encompassing - so many of our garden plants originate from all over the world, brought back by intrepid plant hunters. I'm sure that I saw some Actonidia kolomikta going into the Abbey. Grown in a lot of the bigger British gardens, originates from Japan. Anything that emphasises the positive side of our little corner of the world has to be good for us all.

Royalty as an issue... Rather them than me. Queenie is very good at her job. I shudder at the thought of some of our present / recent political leaders taking on a similar role. The question of future succession...Interesting. Elizabeth will be a hard act to follow. Let's hope they can make some clever, wise, sensible, humble babies.

I wish them both the very best, they deserve it. Its provided a boost to the economy far in excess of any cost. I appreciate the day off but doubt I will be watching it on the tv. I plan to be doing the c2 challenge tomorrow morning, which will leave me with one day to record a ctc.

Dipped in and out of the proceedings. I have no problem with the event itself as no-one does pomp and ceremony better than the Brits and it's a magnificent advert for the UK and the tourist industry. Again though, the endless, endless spinning it out and filling in the time with prattle, speculation and repeating the same stuff just grates.

Andy - it'll never be over as the press now have a new target to hunt down

Last minute decision this morning to take the family up to the Anglesey Showground to join in with a few thousand others and follow the proceedings on a huge screen

Had a great day, much enjoyed by all. Thought they put on a great spectacle, and especially loved their trip to Clarence House in the Aston Martin

As Plummy says - nobody does it better
