An Extra Limerick
You have to laugh: Laughter being the best medicine.
When first I was told the bad news,
I seriously considered the booze.
But then I thought "NO!"
I'll give it a go
Try to vanquish it. Nothing to lose!
So with heavy heart I set to.
More blood tests and urine tests too
The biopsy was bad
MRI made me mad
But date is set for the remove.
So now I will just have to wait
For the day of my terrible date
With the man with the knife
Looming large in my life
To cut out this pesky prostate.
Next stop is the clinic in Brum
Yet another scar on my tum
On the 28 inst
I'll be there on the plinth
Where the surgeon'll be giving it some.
As soon as he's finished the work
I'll have to go fitness beserk
I'll get back to the oar
Getting sprint time galore
Hopefully racing next year at the BIRC

Bill was a Marine we all know
He's not used to taking a tow
He ploughs his own field
And never will yield
With good health restored watch him row

All done and dusted. Just got out of ICU so still a bit dozy. That's the first hurdle overcome. Doc says no rowing for six weeks so no BIRC!
