The Flat Stanley thread

Post by cweed »

Flat Stanley has been hiding in Maryland for a while but finally has come out to play in New Hampshire where we were visiting family to share in some summer traditions including roasting marshmallows in the back yard.

And if we are having fun in the yard, why not play with some real toys.

Two of us Free Spirits can show Stanley the sights in Southern Cal... right Sylvia? If he's available the weekend of Nov 3/4 he can do some head racing with us, if he's here first of Dec he can try sprints at the Christmas Regatta. All his erging friends have surely instilled some awesome power by now. Or he can come any ol' time to relax at the beach. (Sylvia, pretty sure I heard you offer to teach him to surf?)

Flat Stanley has just arrived at my house.
I will be taking him to work with me tomorrow to have a look at a JSF model plane and other things.

He could even go to Grimsby (In my NEW Honda Civic) 8) and have his picture with a few other Freespirits as well.

I don't think flat Stanley is a morning type of guy.i had to get him up at 5:15AM this morning to take him to work and he needed 2 cups of coffee to wake him up. I managed to get him passed the heavy security on the main gate even though he does not have the proper pass. The security gaurds were very understanding when i explained that he is a well travelled little man and it was very important for him to see the base as he has already been around half the world. 8)

I have just left a bar in "the Rocks District of Sydney, Australia" where a group had a photo session with a "Flat Stanley". They were surprised when I knew his name and I had to enquirer as to his parentage.

They explained that he was from Boston and was a cyclist. Like our "flat" he was on a world voyage. I wish him well as I wish ours would hurry up and get to Boston for next years CRASH B's.

Perhaps this should be included in the "Where are they now" thread but...
Flat Stanley arrived in our mailbox Friday April 11,2013 from Sylvia Farris with a request that he would be mailed to Kirby afterwards.
FS is in for a great adventure. He will keep me company while my left wrist continues to heal.
Pictures to follow. :D
