Welcome Ron.

To get added to the Metreboard, you need a Concept2 log (linked above) and just choose Freespirits as your affiliation when you click on the Team Tab.

Looking forward to watching your progress, hope the new start goes well.

Thank you, Iain.

So, I’ve set up my C2 log with Free Spirits as my affiliation and my team. I see my rows listed in Free Spirits on the C2 site, but not in the Meterboard.

Ron, you may well be the first new member of the team since we made some changes to the meterboard. let me have a look and see what is going on. Don't worry, all of your rows for this season will be counted once the tool picks you up.

Welcome aboard.

As I suspected, the code to add new rowers is not working properly. I owe you one for pointing this out. I have sort of found the issue but it looks a bit tricky to fix. I'll let you know when it is working properly. By the way, I have things half working on our development server and can tell you that you immediately jump above me on the Meterboard....so it may take longer than expected to get things fixed

Jon

P.S. If you have some time to put in a session today than why not register at http://www.c2ctc.com/ making sure you select Free Spirits as your team and row this month's event which is 4x1000m with 2 minute rests between them. You register using the link towards the top of the page. Quite a few of us compete in this event each month and we keep a table of scores each year to keep track of each other.

Thank you much for working so quickly to fix the issue. I’ll have a look at the challenge you linked too. Unfortunately, I’ve already rowed an 8x500 so won’t be able to handle an additional session today. I trust this goes into multiple days and I didn’t lose a good opportunity to compete.

Also, HA! No worries about the total meters I log, the numbers don’t reflect just how terribly slow I am. I’ve never been one for speed, so I’m not sure how valuable I’ll be in speed related challenges. But I do enjoy the competition, so if you don’t mind a slow rower, then I’m game.

Thanks again.

The 4x1k finishes today, but don't worry there is the theoretically easier 4min row event starting tomorrow. Just follow the same link.

Ah Ha! That explains a lot. We (Aussie battler and Tina Gallasch) are back after a hiatus of several (many) years. Really looking forward to getting onto the meter board again. We’d forgotten how much fun training is! I’m known to be a masochist.

Welcome back Tina. Can I just check something with you, did you re-register with Concept2? I can see you on the meterboard database but the concept2 id on there is not the same as the one you currently have on the Concept2 website.

I have put what I think is corrected code into the live website. This should show up any new rowers who have never rowed with us before (welcome!). This has involved some changes to some of the most complex meterboard code, so please shout if anyone sees something which doesn't look right. Fingers crossed I haven't broken anything. [-o< #-o

So, I see me in the meterboard, thank you!!!

^O^

But, I see a bit of a problem. The meterboard is showing my actual meters rowed. You don’t have a Double() function you can throw in there, do you?

Hi Jon, Concept 2 have just amalgamated my old log book with my previous log book; my logbook ID is 1694180; and it shows all my recent meters as well as the historical records. User name is belairtina. I;m not sure what I should do to change it; or if I should change it.

I see you haven’t looked into the Premium membership option. That service is available for the bargain, introductory price of $999.99 per week. Let me know if you want to know more.

No need to change anything. Let me figure out how I get you back in the meterboard from this end.

That's great Jon, thanks - and the same for Wayne Gallasch (Aussie Battler). Greatly appreciated.

I'm still not showing on the meter board, although I've updated my details to reflect my new Concept 2 account number. What else can I do - and whatever it is, I also need to do it for Aussie Battler (aka Wayne Gallasch).

I’m curious about the meterboard challenges icons (ghost, footprints, etc) and what they signify. Is there a legend somewhere that shows what each icon represents?

Hei Ron
All available icons for the season are shown in the top right of the meterboard.
You can hoover over them or tap them to see what they are for. For team challenges you can hoover/tab each one and see how much each individual has contributed with in meters.
The ghost is for those that log into the forum and visit Meterboard while logged in.
The footprints are for the half- and full marathon finishers during the C2 marathon challenge at the start of the season.

Ron,

When I remember, I also put a notice on the forum saying that a challenge is live and the icons are up and running in the Meterboard.

The next one is June 19th and is the Juneteenth challenge. Just row 1900m or more and you get an icon and raise money via Concept2.

The one after that is a bit trickier. It’s the Summer Solstice challenge. Row 21,000m or more on June 21st.

Jon

P.S. thanks for posting the explanation Tako.

Greetings

I am a returnee. I have (re)joined the Free Spirits team on their web site but don't see anything on the metre board. Is it possible to fix this?

My C2 user name is the same as my full name i.e. Richard Underwood and the C2 Number is 98729.

Thank You

Hi Richard,

have you tried to set your team affiliation to „Free Spirits“ in your C2 profile?

- klick on your profile foto in your Concept2 logbook (top right)
- „edit profile“
- „Affiliation“
- select Free Spirits from the pull down menu

If I‘m not mistsken the meterboard usually needs up to 30 minutes to pick up new affiliations. You should then see your name on the meterboard.
Athletes row, others just play games

Thank you for the reply.

I didn't make myself clear in my original post in that I had already set my team affiliation to "Free Spirits" in my profile on the C2 web site. To be on the safe side I deleted that and then re-applied the affiliation. After that I waited 30 minutes (longer actually) and then checked the Free Spirits Metre Board and as far as i can see I am not yet being included. I wonder if there is something in the coding that interferes with former members re-joining? I am not any sort of expert in these things but the thought occurs!

Thank you for your help thus far.

Regards,

Richard

Interesting - the answer is "No". However, I see that I am listed here -

Weird huh?

Should I contact C2 do you think?
