Quite the opposite here…pretty cold and ideal for indoor rowing!

Yes, I have top 100 in mind…let’s see!

Enjoy your warm weather.

Wow Paul over 100000m for the last 7 days! I did get in 15k today but you still gained a lot on me. We are supposed to get a big snow storm now so maybe I'll get in another decent distance day tomorrow.

Not worth getting hurt. You get hurt you are done. My normal max on a work out is 30-40 minutes. You really aren’t gaining any fitness after that unless you are training for a long distance event and then you only need to go long a few times a month.

Btw I did get in 19k tonight but that will be my last distance row for a week or 2.

There's some hefty distances in the last week Image:
Image

Another 400k would beat last season, 500k would be my most ever (admittedly only 8 years.....) and c800k would top 5m for the season. Targets everywhere Image

Hey Joe,

Excellent 19k yesterday, putting you ahead again!

Not much of a reply for me today…as it is my (60th) Birthday!

See what I can add tomorrow.

Yes, Ian, quite pleased with my haul this month, especially after such a long break!
I used to be able to cover 1/2 marathon before work every day (2007) but the fitness just isn’t there yet.
Having my own C2 helps…a little at a time.

My birthday present was a Polar H9 monitor…I got it to 175 bpm today…quite pleased with that.

Don’t think I am up to your standard, but will keep pushing!!

Like a bit of healthy competition.

Happy birthday Paul \:D/ That's a very strong heart max heart rate. Mine barely goes over 160 anymore.
Put in 13220m today. Now off for a half hour run with the dog.

Thank you Joe!

More metres for you again today…just have to take the bait! =D>

Did my longest row in a single session today…just over a half marathon distance.
I am hoping to be able to achieve a marathon again….but there’s a long way to go yet.
Was good to see 1/2 way finished.

We are moving up the board together…which is cool.

Awesome job Paul on the distance row. I’m sure you will be up to fm in no time. We may be close together on the board right now but I’m sure you will be pulling ahead soon.

Easy week for me. I'm planning an attempt on a ctc improvement sometime before the end of the month
and I have a long run Friday or Saturday. Feeling I need some R&R. See ya at the finish line

For some of us that is the main purpose of the training these days, "made it to see another dawn!"

You have left me in your wake a week or more ago as I am only rowing 3 days a week and did virtually none prior to Christmas. But it is much easier to make progress than it used to be, I remember when 1Mm seemed necessary to get into the top 100, now 500k may be enough. For me this will be a stretch this year, but hopefully I will keep the momentum into next season!

Well done all on reestablishing regular rowing =D> =D> =D>

Hi Iain,

Yes, I remember those days!
But, asthe famous Thomas W-P once said…”Every metre matters”.

It’s good we are still pressing on, whilst we can.

“No matter how many mistakes you make or how slow you progress, you are still way ahead of everyone who isn’t trying”.
(Tony Robbins)

Or…

“Success is not final, failure is not fatal, it is the courage to continue that counts”.
(Winston Churchill)

Keep on rowing!

Thank you Jon.
I surprised myself…didn’t think I could do so much so soon.
Definitely got the bug again.

It gets harder to progress from here with the top boys and girls!

Let’s see…

Well done on your unrelenting climb up the metre board, Paul. My own ascent is slowing and will stop for a couple of days once the Military Challenge ends on the 28th February. Although I may try to stay in the top 100 for the end of the season.

Keep going, it will be interesting to see where you end up.

Thank you for the encouragement, Chris.
Yes it will be interesting to see final position.
I am not going to reach you this season…not enough time left!

Dwayne K Adams…watch out next year (nah…I couldn’t keep that up!)

My better half thinks I am obsessed?
Surely not!

Would you like me to add you to the Lifetime Metres Scoreboard (seeing as you are piling on the metres these days and likely to rise swiftly through those ranks as well)?
