Yes, I thought of a similar explanation. Anyway, it is only really noticeable at the start of the season anyway, so, no stress

Re: Meter board banter
I have stonked past 5 rowers at the bottom at the table to take 290th place with my first meters for 4 years!
Don't think I can catch the leaders, this season, but at least I'm back on the board

You're flying J-Dog. You'll be knocking on the door of the top half of the bottom half of the meterboard in no time

43Mm metres rowed. Re-setting the bar much lower now. Getting too old and brittle for this malarky

I have to admit I had to read it twice to understand it
Athletes row, others just play games

From 250 to 130 in less than a month. Really happy with that

Re: Meter board banter
Well done, Phil.
I'm trying to break 200 by Christmas, and I've noticed it's getting harder to make progress, even at 222, so you must have put a proper shift in!

I’ve been doing the holiday challenge instead of running and cycling. Should get to 200KM today. Might have a day off tomorrow

Re: Meter board banter
You have two now Phil. Not sure why it didn't update automatically. I'll keep an eye on the board and see if the updates have stopped for some reason. On behalf of Free Spirits I would like to apologise for any inconvenience caused.

Re: Meter board banter
I too have resurrected my machine from under a dusty trove of stuff. I've set a goal of at least on more asterisk on the Lifetime Millionaires board, though it's unlikely to be this season. Meanwhile, I feel great that I'm almost competitive with the ceramic cat on the windowsill, and both of us are unbearably smug that we've left the spathiphyllum plant in the dust last week. Feel free to cheer - all three of us need the encouragement, and the meterboard is a big help

Re: Meter board banter
Well done Jim.. I am also trying to get more metres on the board. Holiday Challenge and VTC helping. I try to mix up rowing with BikeErg so quite a few metres missed the board but count for challenges. I am currently sitting at 122...a dizzy height for me.. not been there for a few years.InlineJinn wrote: ↑Fri Jan 20, 2023 3:59 pm I too have resurrected my machine from under a dusty trove of stuff. Re: Meter board banter
Been a long gap since 2007, but back with a vengeance!
Got to position 169 in 3 weeks…with 150k on the Board. let’s see how high I can get before the season ends.
Times aren’t pretty, but neither am I!

You probably got me. I’m a runner and a biker. Also play a lot of disc golf. Most of my rowing is training to go faster. The only time I ever put in a lot of distance was back around 2012. That’s also when I set most of my pb’s.

Your times are also a lot better than my PBs way back in 2007!

You most likely will. The weather here in Michigan is unseasonably warm for mid February. I’m doing all the running and hiking I can get in this week.
