Eeked some tiny refresh SB at the bottom end of the distance. Thinly sliced 0.1 second off my 100m from 18.6 to 18.5. Go me! Then improved the 1:00 to 321m (which is actually only 2m short of my PB, so that one is "ok"). Was going to try the 1k next, but found that those two left me struggling hard enough that after about 250m into the 1k, I just gave up on it. Next time.

Refreshed the 30 minute today - bumping season best from 6767 to 7135, about 450 short of PB, but working on it. First green non-athlon score of the season (803).

Nice one Rob
I also hit a SB this morning for the 1000m like a idiot I did it cold no warmup thinking how hard can it be to go at fm pace from 12 years ago, answer really hard still like you scored a Celeste colour for the Nonathlon. Yippie

Did the 30 again, beat the previous season best from 2 weeks ago (7135) by 80 m - up to 7215, still 360 short of the PB. I also achieved my “restart rowing” goal of getting enough meters this season to break the 1M projected line. Woohoo - it’s harder to get to starting in July than I thought!

Another 17s off the 5k… but still a long way to go to get to use the other thread… in pretty much every distance.

Made a few half-hearted attempts to cruise into boat 1 CTC today - my stamina and willpower were wanting. Eventually gave up, but did the 4 minute, and improved my season best by about 50m - still 72 short of a new PB.

The first 4k tell me there is definitely a chance of more opportunity Rob. Well done on closing the gap on last year's really strong performance.

Improvement on my FM time with a 2:15.6 / 3:10:49.4 today.

Just noticed that this was 2.6s slower than my first ever FM, back in 2001.
And very close to my recent best of 3:09:15.0 from 2022..

(Ho hum, will probably have to do another one sometime soon now I've noticed that)

Thought I'd share this Epic fail with you, as many of you will appreciate it.
Was planning a 2:07 HM a couple of days back, but on starting, I found myself splitting lower, so ended up targeting 2:05. Got near the end, and progressively opened up a bit more, before doing a reasonably fast sprint finish, thinking I'd probably pick up an SB (as I haven't done much quick work this season).
Ended up on 1:27:32.5.
Logged into C2 to see what my Ranked SB time was.

1:27:32.4

So I missed it by 0.1s over 21097 and 87.5 mins....

You have to laugh...

Just doing a simple 10k this morning that turned into a new SB. I’m particularly happy with this one because look at that average 21 SPM - it’s almost like I’m a real erger. My previous best was probably at my typical 28. Ha.

Back to my favorite thread. I call this one “anatomy of a struggle” - the 4th 400 was a bit tough, and my cox’s call for “40 big ones” at the end largely ignored.

None the less, trimmed almost 10s off my SB and standing on the doorstep of a new PB. DF 110 for this try, and after a leisurely 7200m “warm up”.

Well done Rob. That last 400m doesn't look too shabby to me, so I'd give the cox at least a bit of credit

Took a stab at trying to beat my 5k PB - goal was 19:22. Struggled in the middle and fell about 10 seconds short of the PB line - but did beat my previous SB by almost a minute. I’ll try this one again in April and see if I can grab those elusive 10 seconds.

In other news, my work week gym is closing - so I think I’ll only have access to PM3s, so the end of these stat filled days. So sad! I love stats.

I only have a PM3, but more stats than I can use are generated by the spreadsheet I keep the data in! Well done on the massive SB, should give you a better idea at how to pace it next time as headng off substantially below target didn't end well! Amazed at how low your HR stayed for that first 1k, did you do a warm up?

Yeah 1000m warm up but super low effort ha. Really just to stretch everything out and get loose.

Time is running out for this seasons Nonathlon so today's effort was a 6k with a Target of 800+ points.
Target achieved.

Well done Colin, that third 1000 looks as if it hurt, well done to maintain the pace. For me, only a few SBs are within my current fitness, but after my 2k yesterday hope for one or 2 more by April.
