Aus and NZ are on my bucket list "to go to" list as I have both friends and family there (and fellow Free Spirits). All things "going to plan" there may be a chance that I will get to realise that wish in the next couple of years. Have a great trip Steve, glad to hear you're finally getting to go.

Hm, me again :-k
After 3 Covid cancellations, 1st one being March 2020, we are off to Botswana and Zimbabwe on Sunday for a 2 week Safari and Victoria Falls.
A present to ourselves for silver wedding and retirement.
Beyond excited for our first trip to Africa, however I'll only really believe it when the plane takes off! :fswink:

I'm off to Vietnam coming Monday for seventeen days. We are a small group of nine people and are going to see quite a variety of landscape: Hanoi, mountainside, djungle, waterfalls, cruise on the Lan Ha bay near Hanoi.

I'm not particularly looking forward to a thirteen hour flight (for Dave: Airbus A 380 and Boeing 777 :D ), but it's the only way to experience exciting countries.

I can't promise to do any erging during this holiday

Looks great Peter. You'll love the A380 (especially if you are on the upper deck). Enjoy - everyone deserves treats like these.

Captain Peter,

Enjoy your holiday (or your vacation, if you plan to do it in American rather than British  ).

You may be worried about your 13 hour flight, but we are jealous. We are going on a tour of Southeast Asia next March. Our Return flight from Hanoi to NYC will be a 4:30 flight to Seoul, 4:30 transfer, 14:20 flight to NYC. About the same as our outbound flight - 14:30 to Seoul,2:00 transfer, 6:00 to Phnom Penh. That all is ignoring the 4 hour journey to get to the airport in NYC. As your photo shows, it should be worth all the effort. And, we will be flying in steerage rather than first class.

Pics or it didn't happen!

To stay on topic, wife & I are headed to Roatan, Honduras with FIL/wife & SIL/husband to celebrate our 35th anniversary, my 58th birthday, and my sister-in-law's birthday. Supposed to have the world's second largest (to Australia) barrier reef which should make for some fantastic snorkeling!

Honduras, not a destination many of us in Europe would think of. Thanks for the idea ... have a fab trip Ron.

I have a return trip to Pebble Beach next week. My friend who organised a trip for his 50th is now 60 and we are doing a week in CA again. San Fran down the coast to San Diego over 7 days. We have chosen to drive, although sadly I understand the coast road to be mostly closed.

Thank you for your holiday wishes and apologies for my late reply. It was a mixture of nature, adventure and culture, the adventure part being a very strenuous two day hike in the rain up to Mt. Fansipan (3143m or 10300ft). The nature part was a two day hike through the djungle (also quite strenuous I have to say), but we also had some relaxing time during our cruise on Lan Ha bay. I've attached some (out of probably 2000 taken  ) fotos.

Thank you Peter for the beautiful photographs.

My favourite is of ( what I think must be ) the paddy/rice fields, all those different shades of green.

Very pleased that you had a great holiday too and also had much needed opportunities to put your feet up and enjoy a beer or two ... or three.👍 :)

Halong Bay - those are great pictures! When I did this same trip, they allowed us to take a swim half way through and it was shocking that the water was the temperature of a very hot bath — very unexpected!

Can someone give suggestion on my itinerary please?
Day 1-3: Mexico City, Palacio Nacional, Teotihuacan, Nacional de Antropologia.
Day 4-8: Isla Holbox- Tulum, Chihen Itza, Some beach time
Day 9-10: Oaxaxa
These are the places I have finalized after going through few articles online. Can I cover them properly within 10 days? Should I add or remove anything from here?

Hi articflipper, welcome to Free Spirits.

We were in Mexico in February, 2020, at an all-inclusive resort, and did not leave the grounds. Our last visit to the ruins in Tulum was in 1976! So,we do not have any advice for you. It would appear that not too many FS members visit this forum, and those with experience in Mexico probably are even fewer. :(

Something like Tripadvisor may be of some help, if you can sort out the accurate advice from the mass of drivel.

First ever winter sun and Caribbean trip for us (well, for me anyway) on Wednesday.
10 days in St Lucia, very much looking forward to seeing that part of the world and hopefully we can explore the island a bit.

Yeah I have made this itinerary by looking at people's suggestion from tripadvisor. I was just cross-checking here for any additional info
