He's always lived local I think Colin, but I thought he had moved further away recently.
We used to see him quite regular as he lived by the golf club and he walked the dogs.
I wonder if he and Ozzy have managed to end the law suit over the use of the Sabbath name!?

Bless you Sorry couldn't resist that. Do you need to be completely wasted to enjoy? I was too young to appreciate first time around.

Hey, Helium - you have some awesome bands out there in Finland - I particularly enjoy Turisas and Ensiferum, and korpiklaani aren't too bad either.Helium wrote:Yes, I am Hey I'm a Finn and here even kids and grannys like heavy metalcolin bradley wrote:Any Heavy Metal fans out there?

Turisas is one of my favorites too. Turisas will be publising new album this autumn. Can' wait They use to be local boys I spend 2 days at Wanaja festival this year and Tarot, Stam1na and Mokoma did absolutely fantastic gigs.
Rock On! Stam1na and Mokoma are quite rough and brutal bands, but I like the way they are playing with rythm.

Thanks Heli - not heard of Tarot, Stamina and Mokoma so will check them out on Youtube - I'm sure I will enjoy them as long as there isn't the Death Metal vocals.Helium wrote:Turisas is one of my favorites too. Saw Muse at Wembley last night. Luckily didn't sound like Queen although their new album does . They were actually very good along with Biffy Clyro and White Lies. Missed last train after hanging around for a curry. Still met a very nice Afghan refugee who took us home (for a small fortune.)

Re: Musical Opinions - add yours here :-)
Mr Gooner - I saw Muse a couple of years ago and technically they were the best band I've ever seen. I did at the time think that they needed to up the showmanship side though.
Biffy are always great value for money - saw them at Reading last month.
On the GNR front it was interested to hear some of the comments from their fans at Reading. I saw one guy literally rip the GNR T shirt from his back and trample it in the myd describing the present line up a "Axl's f*****g Karoke band". He was a bit tired and emotional at the time and had attempted to find solace in drink so perhaps he had to go back the next morning and pick up his shirt?
I'm on the look out for Kasabian tickets at the moment. Anybody know where they are at the presnt?

Graham.
Kasabian ( I think) are in the process of making a further album. They have no planned tour dates and I wouldn't expect anything more this year. I'm sure I'm on their mailing list, I'll keep an eye out.
In their words
'control out.'
PS Yeasayer and Hurts, for those that lean more to melancholy give em ago. And XX, best album of the year (IMHO.)

Mr Gooner, I'd agree with yeasayer as a band to watch out for. Their latest single is pretty good but not the best track on the album.
The XX are just too "Art College cool" for me. Their album is (IMHO) over rated and basically won the Mercury because it was "none of the above". Perhaps that's just my punk rebellious side coming out.
Check out LCD Soundsystem. If you can still get it, try the BBC for their Reading set.
Others to listen to - The Sonics, a 60's band who sound very modern.
Grinderman and their track Heathan Child.
Jim Jones Revue for the more bluesy side of life.
Also getting into Run DMC's back catalogue and have re-discovered why they were so good.

On the evidence of the last single, I bought Adele - 21. Have to say - I'm mighty, mighty impressed. It's very rare I will just play a CD back to back several times and like it more each time.

Mr Plummy, if you like Adele, you might like to try out a female voalist called Asa.
Not quite as good a range or tone as Adele but a great voice none the less.
