What's "Low Pull"?
I notice a lot of folk are including something called "Low Pull" or LP with their personal bests. Could someone please explain what this is? How do you measure it and what does it tell you about the rower? Many thanks.
Apologies for my ignorance!

Hi William
This is something Jessica asked on the main forum today as well. Basically its the fastest split/500m you can achieve i.e your maximum speed. You are not likely to be able to hold this speed for more 2 or 3 strokes. Try setting your pm3 (or pm2) to 100m and just go hell for leather.
I suppose its a measure of your power.

Thanks Stan
Many thanks for that. I assume you set your machine on ten, let rip, and score the fastest stroke! Sounds easy, so long as one doesn't put one's back out.

had this discussion on the c2 forum a while back. the general consensus amongst the big guys on there was that it was more about manipulating the machine than just pulling hard. most get the split down by rating rediculously high (50/60 ) for a few strokes, then there's nothing left. but it isn't too much of a show of power while normally rowing, as the stroke is shortened so much to ramp up the rate, it barely resembles a rowing stroke.
still, it's something to do if you're bored. i need to work on the technique to get the rate up. mine was pulled at less than 40spm

apparently so. i think the highest ive ever got the rate was the high 40s. but it was a shockingly short stroke and nowhere near poweful enough to bring the split down too low. im sure with a bit of practice these kind of rates are possible. apparently the new lightweight world record holder rates 40 throughout the middle of his 2k. and then goes quicker to sprint at the end!!Jessica-Red wrote:WHAT WITHOUT BURSTING!!!!
