Congratulations to Roger Bangay

Post by Stan »

I was browsing the competiton forum on the c2 website and found the results for yesterdays Evesham golden mile. I noticed a certain Roger Bangay came 3rd in the mens 60-69 lwt race in a time of 5:46.7. Just wanted to say congratulations Roger and well done. Not sure if there were any other Free Spirits at Evesham

Thanks for the congrats guys, just a minor point Stan, and I don't wish to boast, but I came 1st, I think :?
I would have entered as a Free Spirit, but I sent in my entry before I joined this magnifcent outfit.
I can confirm no other Free Spirits were at Evesham. I did however see 'Old Crocks', 'Taff Attack' members, as well as Jon Goodall from the 'Mad' team.

Bangers.

Great row, and hat off to you for your 30mins. I am humbled. Will try and beat it but only for olympian ideals and not for spite. How long have you rowed?

Neil
It was 8 years ago at the age of 61 when I first sat on an erg. (A bit of a late starter!)

I'll watch your 30min rows with interest, if you pass me, that'll be good as it will spur me on to try harder, which is what the team spirit is all about.

By the way my 30 min PB is 7877m (2004), but I'm not sure whether I can get back to that as I'm on that slippery (age related) downward slope. :(

No need to bow if we meet at the British. I'll be the one with a cap at my feet and notice aound my neck 'Please help, no job and a hungry mouth to feed.....mine', so just toss a few coins of the realm into my hat.

My apologies Roger, the results show that 2 in front of you were in the open lightweight category - shows I should read things properly first  . Double congratulations then.
