New web site....

Post by Tricia B »

Hello Free Spirits....

This new web site is great....sooo easy to access....not only am I new to the rowing team, using a forum for communication is new tooooo....It has been exciting to watch the team rise from 10th place to first as it grows with new members....I think I was member 31....and we are now at 75 (when I posted my workout today)....FREE SPIRITS IS INCREDIBLE !!!!

Michelle...thank you sooo much for inviting me to join....

Paul and Nigel....thank you for your insight for rowing better....In my mind I had Nigel telling me "use your legs" and Paul "don't fall off your seat" ( I was using the strapless stroke he described). I was able to set a new PB for 30 minutes.

Stan....thank you for encouraging me to post on the CTC and appreciating my effort even though I'm slow...

It feels really great to belong to such a terrific team.....Happy Rowing

I reckon if everyone who wants to dobs me £2 through PayPal (I will add a link some time soon) then it will cover the £30 it cost for the first year. After a year we'll have 2000 members at this rate and if everyone gives me £2 I can retire. Nya ha ha ha ha ha - I feel an all day LeMans coming on.

I'm on PayPal - let me know details and I'll pitch in £2.
You've done a great job on this.

If you get 500 members, you can buy yourself a C2 Model D!!

The latest idea is that should wew get T-shirts I get one FOC - and that seems a good idea to me. I am happy to wait until that idea lives or dies. We just need a logo and motto.

Post by jainser »

Hi guys,

Whats the deal with the 'strapless stroke' ??

Is this a girl thing linked in with the sports bra or can anyone have a go?

Think we need to put this in the FAQ. It is a stroke with the "feet out" i.e. not strapped to the ergo.

Forces you to accelerate through the stroke but not good for sprinting since you shoot off the back of the ergo!
