Anyone else doing these?
These WODs are brilliant for racking up metres and absolutely obliterating your lungs in the friendliest way possible. Some of them even send my heart rate into the top zone — you know, the one where your fitness tracker quietly wonders if it should alert next of kin.
I haven’t done as many recently, but today I’ve decided to pretend I’m motivated again.

Pretend away - look forward to seeing the results.
(There's also a fun CTC you might want to try too!)

59 years old, 5"10', clinging on to 75kg and frustratingly but understandably inconsistent

Re: C2 Workout of the Day
Did the WOD today and, because I like causing myself maximum damage, I did the whole thing on the SkiERG. Four rounds of 3 minutes on with 2 minutes “easy”… which, on the SkiERG, translates roughly to “slightly slower suffering.”
It was definitely harder than I thought it would be — somewhere around round two I started questioning myself!! — but I’m actually pretty happy with how it turned out in the end. Now I just need the day to finish so I can see where I landed on the leaderboard and decide whether to brag or pretend it never happened.

No time like the present. Or maybe in a couple of days, when you've recovered from post-WOD.jainser wrote: Wed Feb 11, 2026 4:14 pmI have been eyeing that up, haven't done a CTC in decades!!Mike Channin wrote: Wed Feb 11, 2026 12:58 pm Pretend away - look forward to seeing the results.

Re: C2 Workout of the Day
I’ve just taken a look at all my rowing sessions this season—don’t worry, it didn’t take long—and to my absolute horror I discovered I haven’t done a single piece under 2:00.0. Not one!
My best efforts? A heroic 2:00.6 over 20 minutes and a very leisurely 2:02.1 over just past 30 minutes. At this point I’m pretty sure even the machine was judging me.
So yes, my earlier confidence about smashing out a reputable time has taken a gentle wobble. I still think I can get my average under 2:00… just maybe not with the swagger I imagined. Mostly because I clearly haven’t hit the rower in anger for far too long.

In a world where peanuts & beer fuel destiny, one hero stands strong—eating, drinking, and ERGing on rower, bike, and ski machine. Fueled by alcohol, driven by questionable choices. The Erg‑Avenger rises….

Re: C2 Workout of the Day
I like doing the WOD as well. Slowly going faster, still cautious with my knee, but I'm trying to get into the rhythm again. Entered a new age group two months ago, but unfortunately I'm not yet in the top of that group.
This month's CTC is still on my list, plenty of time left for that.

Good luck with that, Fred. Good to hear you're making progress.
And Pete, the lack of previous 2:00 sessions surely gives you a target. I must admit, I find 2:00 pace a lot harder than I used to, these days!
