I've gone with the Long Haul as the most difficult (for me and the way I'm rowing right now), and I'm approaching half way.

Also on long haul. Over 1/3 through now, behind Mike but ahead of schedule.

Re: January Revolutions Challenge (C2 Log)
Great news, Alan - well done!
I'm on 21hrs 57 mins
I *have* to row with gloves, and also with additional plasters on the main points of contact to avoid wear-and-tear.
And I'm currently using a stack of three different seat pads too!
But on the good side, I'm suffering far less attrition in terms of hands and seat soreness than I have done in the past.

Re: January Revolutions Challenge (C2 Log)
Thanks Iain and Mike, I've actually got a blister on my left hand now to complement the callouses. As I am well padded in the posterior no need for seat pads !

Mike, thought about CB but decided that the early starts during the week would be too much. Well done so far and keep us updated on your progress.

Re: January Revolutions Challenge (C2 Log)
Mike,
Is Crazy Bear a HM every day ?
If so I don't think my old body could take it .
The only way I can do my current craziness is by splitting the pieces into 5ks, 4ks or 8ks with plenty of rest in between.
Thanks for the offer though ☺.

Re: January Revolutions Challenge (C2 Log)
25 hours 17 - nearing the end of the 'Long Haul'
The Crazy Bear is 30 HMs in 44 days (no idea why). The Continuous Crazy Bear is doing the 30 HMs on consecutive days. At the rate you're going, you'll make it easily. (It is, after all, all about the pacing...) If you're doing a total HM in one session, that counts for me.
15 HMs down, so half way on the Crazy Bear. Turns out it was my 50th HM for the season too. Today's was the fastest of the recent set, at 1:27:18.3. One of those rare days where you find you can just keep hitting the split without it seeming to hurt, and the HR stays flat across the piece.

Well done Mike. Best of luck with the remaining 15. Only just over 18 hours in for me, so nearly 12 to go!

Re: January Revolutions Challenge (C2 Log)
Whoosh! What was that?
I have been passed on the meterboard by a fast moving Strider.
... and he's gone. It's a bit like a RoadRunner cartoon. Not sure if he went 'Meep, Meep' on the way past...
Off my my daily HM now, but even after that, I'm still going be left coughing in the dust of his passing...

Re: January Revolutions Challenge (C2 Log)
Hmm. Just noticed I was within 3k of re-passing that Strider RoadRunner (if only briefly). Wish I'd know as I could possibly have found another 3k. Maybe I'll do an early session tomorrow...
