🤣!

That Pepe is really a great wit
Who uses the to erg to keep fit
His times outstrip those
Who challenge his rows
Which upsets them more than a bit ☺!

I sit here yanking my chain
I am tired and it's becoming a pain
To be in the top twenty I need to row plenty

Hope the house move went well.
It's a bit less than 40 degrees here at the moment (although still pretty mild for December).

Yes, Mike, we survived the heat. The downside is that today I tweaked a hamstring manhandling a heavy garden statue, so my return to the erg will be subject to some delay :(

Sorry to hear about the hamstring Philip. I hope that you recover quickly and find a place without too many boxes to set up the erg!

There are some amazing amounts of distance being logged on the meter board at the moment.
I've clocked 151k in the last week, and that puts me 4th for last week (and only just), and I'm about to be passed on the board by a flying Alan!
Fingers crossed that the hamstring is better, Philip!

Mike,

It's easier for me as I'm retired so can happily spend 4 hours in a nice warm gym listening to some banging sounds and rowing VERY slowly 🤣 .

At our present rate it'll take me well over a week to catch you-well done on the series of back to back HMs it's been 16 years since I managed 1:22 for an HM as a 57 year old !

Alan, it's been years since I managed a HM that fast. I got down to 1:24:07.5 earlier in the season, but I'm nowhere near that at the moment. I was running at ~1:57 for the first 5k today, and that was showing a predicted around 1:22 and something - and there's NO WAY I was doing another 16k at that pace!!!!
All that said, you have given me a target, so I suppose I shall have to see what I can find...

Thanks for your concern, guys. I got back on the erg today, did a steady attempt at the 5k CTC and pulled up well. All good.

I am trailing in the wake of the amazing Strider at the moment, but the next targets are dots in the distance, and I'm in danger of losing my slipstream...

Normal service resumed today, eh, Strider?

Congratulations for passing the 2 million meters for the season, and a FM to do it! I'm hoping to reach 2 million for the season in about three days time...

There are some amazing contributions going on up and down the meterboard, with William Konarzewski (181k) the other stand out star!

Call outs to:
  • Some new guy called Stanway - clocking up some distance
  • Stephen Craig-Pearson - up 58 places in the week
  • Nick Shuker - up 16 places
  • Leandro Blesa Viñado - up 12
  • Ann K Seidman - up 16
  • Rob Larson - up 11
  • New entry Ronald Rousseaux
  • Pinuu Secchi - Up 10
  • Ingrid Ermler - Up 10
  • Re Alvarez Parmar - Up 7 68k
  • Davey Glover - Up 7 94k
  • New Entry Cameron Ross - 541k
  • Ólafur Hrafn Júlíusson - Up 14 82k
  • Hans Pfeil - 85k
  • And pretty much everyone in the top 25 with some huge distances being logged
Amazing stuff everyone - go Free Spirits!!  ^O^ =D> ^O^ =D> ^O^

What are you seeing, Stan? What are you using to view it?

On a different direction: I think Kay Bieri deserves recognition for having the longest set of challenge icons! Look at them all!!!

Same as ever Stan. Just click on the Meterboard link from any page on our site in a browser.

Let me know if that doesn’t work. You may have an old link to the previous version stored away, that won’t work now.

This is the first line I get if I go onto meterboard. I am using microsoft edge as my browser. I wouldnt be too surprised if links are out of date, but how do I put that right?

Fatal error: Uncaught mysqli_sql_exception: You have an error in your SQL syntax; check the manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near 'ORDER BY 1' - hope thats enough to go on.

What link are you using?
Are you clicking the header link?

If so, might be cookie or something that needs cleaning out.

Stan, I suspect you are accessing an old version. You can try either/both of the following:
Let me know if either works for you.

By the way, I can see you on the board. You are position 281 and have shot up 12 places so far this week =D> =D>

Some big movers down the bottom end of the meter board:
Stan continues his rise, chased by some guy called Roger.
Huw Roberts and the Havemans (Jan and Sheena) all climbing too!

Henrik Elmer and Peter Seidman both up 7.
Paul Gould up 16!
Mick O'Rourke up 14
Nick Shuker up an amazing 32 places
Commodore Ann up 11 too.
Gregor Hirschfield up 9
Stephen Brindle up 8
Vicki Christian up 14

Near the top, William Konarzewski continues to pound out the big distances.
