🤣!

That Pepe is really a great wit
Who uses the to erg to keep fit
His times outstrip those
Who challenge his rows
Which upsets them more than a bit ☺!

I sit here yanking my chain
I am tired and it's becoming a pain
To be in the top twenty I need to row plenty

Hope the house move went well.
It's a bit less than 40 degrees here at the moment (although still pretty mild for December).

Yes, Mike, we survived the heat. The downside is that today I tweaked a hamstring manhandling a heavy garden statue, so my return to the erg will be subject to some delay :(

Sorry to hear about the hamstring Philip. I hope that you recover quickly and find a place without too many boxes to set up the erg!

There are some amazing amounts of distance being logged on the meter board at the moment.
I've clocked 151k in the last week, and that puts me 4th for last week (and only just), and I'm about to be passed on the board by a flying Alan!
Fingers crossed that the hamstring is better, Philip!

Mike,

It's easier for me as I'm retired so can happily spend 4 hours in a nice warm gym listening to some banging sounds and rowing VERY slowly 🤣 .

At our present rate it'll take me well over a week to catch you-well done on the series of back to back HMs it's been 16 years since I managed 1:22 for an HM as a 57 year old !

Alan, it's been years since I managed a HM that fast. I got down to 1:24:07.5 earlier in the season, but I'm nowhere near that at the moment. I was running at ~1:57 for the first 5k today, and that was showing a predicted around 1:22 and something - and there's NO WAY I was doing another 16k at that pace!!!!
All that said, you have given me a target, so I suppose I shall have to see what I can find...

Thanks for your concern, guys. I got back on the erg today, did a steady attempt at the 5k CTC and pulled up well. All good.

Seconding that - great to hear you're back on the rower, Philip! And doing a CTC too!
