Thanks Jill. We actually landed yesterday afternoon, rather than on Sunday night, but at least we and our luggage did get home.

I had a song stuck in my head and was going to post it, and then this one displaced it. If I remember the other one, I could put it up if I get another turn!

Well, if it's the song I've just looked up, I think you may have done it again Peter :-)

But I know you guys have heard this. And I am also certain you have heard of some of the singers and bands that have covered this song!

Peter, in my head, I can hear Ringo Star singing this but that's as far as it goes. #-o

Peter, I think that I have now had a lightbulb moment, so hopefully a few more steps in the right direction.

Thank you Peter. :)

Something written very recently on here, gave me the idea for this one.

Jill, as you might say, "I heard Lionel Richie singing All Night Long".

I am not sure what was written recently that gave you the idea. In any event, there are no extra points available for that.

Peter, sorry to disappoint but it's not the above although it is one of those rare occasions ( and not intentional on my part ) when two songs can contain an identical lyric.

More clues the - American rock band formed in the seventies and still performing (and on tour) this year.

Steve, not the Eagles although they are from the same era.

First two lines from the first verse:

Don't you feel it growing day by day
People getting ready for the news

Now, listen up; all Free Spirits who have ever contributed to this thread, like to do this.

Ok then Jill, from the clues, I have another guess…
“Listen to the music” by I think ‘The Dooby Brothers’?

Thanks - tenuous connection to a film podcast I listen to (Kermode and Mayo) for the next lyrics:

Before the day is done
