We were shoehorned into a musty annexe with bad acoustics and plaster peeling off the ceiling. Unfortunately, the P.A. system wasn’t up to the job. Apart from these drawbacks the programme ran well.
I haven’t got the official results yet - the events have just finished, but Collette Lancaster-Lockwood did well in the Para 30+ category and I was first in my four races. Info from the monitor:
Day One
2k: 8:55.6
500m: 1:58.9
Day Two
100m: 20.9
1k: 4:17.6
(Interestingly, we were allowed 2 attempts at the 100m taken 10 minutes apart. My second attempt was 0.3 sec.better than the first). I was hoping for a better time in the 1k, but at this stage was running out of steam

Tina and Wayne Gallasch were scheduled to race but didn’t appear.
We fly home tomorrow, having had six days of beautiful warm sunny weather and several excellent dinners.
