The PBs that creep up on you are the best… no pressure or stress, and no risk of blowing up early… just that pleasant thought that “this could be on”. Only then does the pain begin

Nice one Ian =D> =D> =D>

Great row Ian at an impressively low rating, you know what acknowledging that you didn't work hard throughout means 'though, when are you going for it for real?

Thanks chaps - and yes I sadly agree the implications are that I do need to have another focused go at this distance.....

Good to see folk breaking those PBs, also great to see the thread I started almost 17 years ago is up to 500 pages.

Missed yesterday, and needed to make up some meters for the Dog Days, so did the hour of power. Shockingly, another weak event from last year -- so my 13437 actually passed my previous best by 43 meters. Woo hoo.

Well done sir - a 43m increase probably shows that the previous one was a genuine "best" at that time. If you'd topped it by several hundred metres it might suggest the previous one was a tad "light". Onwards and upwards!

43Mm metres rowed. Re-setting the bar much lower now. Getting too old for this malarky

Well. Apparently my optimum prep for a pb is to row a pb (see the CTC thread):

Handful of seconds off my 10k and HM over a few days. After the fact, I noticed my 10k pace was inside my 30 minute pace too #-o
