Well done sir - a 43m increase probably shows that the previous one was a genuine "best" at that time. If you'd topped it by several hundred metres it might suggest the previous one was a tad "light". Onwards and upwards!

Ahhh.. appreciate the advice, Jon. You can see the approach I used was the tried and true fly and die. Next time, I'll give your system a shot. I've been fiddling with the DF too. Now you have a target pace (new PB) I reckon you could improve the time again with a classic 2k pacing approach.
For info. my pacing approach was always: fast 100m to start, taper down to target pace so I am there by 250m. Hold until 400-500m to go. Gradual build up to max effort over last 500m.
My PB days are a long way behind me now though.
