Re: Pan Pacific Masters Games
The programme ran as follows:
Day 1: 2k and 500m
Day 2: 100m, 1k and 1 min.
Lesley got golds in the 2k (7:39.9), the 1k (3:44.0) and the 1 min. (304m)
She got silvers in the 500m (1:42.5) and in the 100m (19.1)
As for me, I couldn’t fail because I was the only competitor in the 85-89 Lwt category
My results: 2k: 8:59.3, 1k: 4:10.6, 500m: 1:59.3, 1 min: 277m, 100m: 21 sec.
We were very happy to meet Lesley and were most impressed with her full- on powerhouse performances!
We’ve now got two days of relaxation here before flying home on Friday in time for Pennant bowls on Saturday. A busy week!

Re: Pan Pacific Masters Games
Congratulations to you both for really great and impressive results!
Doing all these events in such a short time frame is crazy if you ask me, makes it all even more impressive!
Hope you get the necessary rest for recovery!

Re: Pan Pacific Masters Games
I believe Phillip is selling himself a bit short. Factually correct that he was the only one in his group for the Pan Pacs, but always put in a brilliant effort. Flying the Free Spirits flag on day 1 with the shirt. Very ably assisted by Hazel to hold the machine.
It was certainly a busy couple of days for all participants. A very well run event and the commentator really got the crowd involved. Being run under the big top, used for the entertainment each evening, ensured there was a nice breeze and being our spring ensured it wasn't too hot. Perfect erg weather. I was pleased to see some form return in the 2k after a slow row in the AIRC the previous weekend. I also managed 2 x PBs, the 100m and the 1 min. Missed the 500 PB by 0.2s and the 2k PB by 0.5s. Quite happy with those times. In real life is much better than virtual for the atmosphere. First time I have ever stood on a podium to receive a medal. It is the little things in life we get quite excited by.
If anyone knows the secret to holding pace in the middle 750 of a 2k could they please share

Great posts and photos. Well done both of you. Great that you could also meet up, which is still something sadly lacking for the majority of us.

Re: Pan Pacific Masters Games
Great performances from team FS. It's also great to see some in person racing going on as well, there's been such a complete dearth of that over the last 2~3 years.
I've been very slack in my upkeep of the Hall of Fame but I'll try and get it updated this week with the results

Fantastic times ! Big Congratulations for both of you. Good to see that there are still some "physical" events in this world!
