I see that competition brings out the monster in you, Peter! I want no part of that agonizing-looking row, but well done! :)

Hanging out in boat 4, with my first try 4007m, I was inspired by Peter’s bronze-silver-gold approach. Here’s how it went:

It wasn’t pretty and was only fun in the second half - like Peter, I was motivated by the “half way through” and figured someone had to keep the boat 1 crew on their toes… so why not!

Well, I overcome the fear of this one and had a crack. I was determined not to feel ill at the end and at the same time hit 1:52 average.

I didn’t feel all that bad until the final interval, which is how it should be I guess. I put a lot of focus on breathing during intervals and recovery i between, managing to get to “grey” on ErgZone in each rest interval. Interval 6 looks odd. Better pace at a lower HR. I wish I knew what i did better there.

The pace was pretty consistent but off my target pace. The recommended pace on RowAlong for this is 2K which feels very tough to me.

Well done everyone, I needed to go again on this one as last time I was taken short after the 7th interval. Decided to neg. split again from a faster start point 2:14.8 to finish in 3661m still more in the tank but happy with boat V for now.

some fabulous rows all! Love the tons of participations. I mean, we probably won't float 217 boats like some teams, but it's still awesome!

So had a go at this today. Did 8x500R3.30 a few days ago at 1.48.9, so plan was to start at 1.51 & see how it went, vague aspiration to go sub 1.50 average.

Mmmm that hurt! 1/2 way thro was wondering about finnishing never mind sub 1.50!!! Gritted out Rounds 5 & 6 then knew I could finnish. See Mr Bee has posted a great time -well done Ian. HR monitor/strap/battery needing some attention again!

Nice work Spider - I'll pop my splits up later. It was not pretty.....

Think Steve has a target now Image

And there it is. Targeted 1:51 initially, but felt fine at a faster pace for the first three. Made a conscious decision to hold back for rep 4, then just focused on the possibility of getting 44xx.

First and only run on this, thank goodness!

Well done to my fellow Lightweight rowers. That has pushed me firmly into Boat 3, but I know I couldn’t get close to that pace, so I won’t be trying to clamber up the rankings.

We only have 2 boats afloat at the moment. Ladies?

A real flurry of performances in recent days with some great improvements from Jon, Colin, Spider and Ian =D> =D>

My planned session today was 10 x 2 1/2 mins so seemed an ideal one to substitute for the CTC.
Started off at Rob’s 1:42.2 pace and hoped to hold it from there. Felt tough towards the end but really happy with the result :D

decided to have another go at this starting with the first 4 intervals at last times average, then neg split the remainder judging by my state of exhaustion after the last I felt I gave it a good go. Well done everyone who had a go at this I did try to get my daughter to have go but as she has just got over covid she sensibly declined.
