Well done team, great to still see some regular participation and banter on the CTC.
Summer has been full of golf for me. Some OTW, but very little gym or erg.
This showed today, my attempt to pip Tako and Peter... target 1:48.5
1 - 1:48.2
2 - 1:48.5
3 - big end blew, resulting in very tiny HD - 1:49.9
total 1;48.8 - 9:39.8
Not far off, but I have golf Fri, Sun, Mon and OTW Sat. Doubt if I'll fit another go in...

Likewise Steve, mostly otw rowing for me these days, 2500km for the season so far.

Great score given your time off the erg! =D>

August ctc: Crazy Eights - Triple Crown

Post by JonT »

Given the CTC has gone on to radio silence regarding the sliders, I decided to have a crack at this one. The plan was to hit 2k+1 pace by doing 2k+2/2k+1/2k. That didn't go to plan and I actually finished with an overall 2k-1.1. The 2k time is relatively recent, so I'm not sure what happened there. Anyway, glad it's over but I have to say I quite enjoyed that one.

Great going Jon, only 2 seconds behind Mr. Bee =D>

Ingrid had a go as well. Unfortunately she entered the pace rather than the overall time (which gives a preliminary top spot in the table 😃).

Is there a way to correct this? Re-enter the correct score? Or is it necessary to contact Dougie Lawson?

Edit: re-entering the score is the way to do it. No more number spot for FS I 😃

Nicely done Jon - sharp intake of breath (and mild fear of needing to have another go 🫣🫣🫣)

I talked to Ingrid and Gaby, hopefully they will give it a go tonight or over the weekend (as will I).
Thank you Ingrid for putting in a great time and helping Boat III to float.

Thanks Claudius and Erik - I've managed to get back into regular training over the last 10 days and seem to be almost back where I was

Nice work from Wolfie, Jon and Ingrid =D> =D>

Well that one stung a bit! I've been doing a few 5 x 1k r1'30" sessions this last week to build the fitness back and had just one target for this one - keep the pace under 1:45. I just about managed it, though the legs didn't thank me for the final 300m or so of the last rep

Final result - 2664m, 9:10.2, 1:43.2, 26

Still.. looks like being a very similar, though somewhat protracted, session for the month ahead, so hopefully the training will pay off

Had a go at this today before i ran out of time.
wup - 3k
Time dist spm SPlit
03:21.5 888 30 0 01:53.4
03:19.8 888 32 0 01:52.5
03:17.0 888 33 0 01:50.9
09:58.4 2664 31 0 01:52.3
CD - 2k
Unsure of what I could sustain for 3 reps so took it a bit conservatively on first rep. ( as seen in the next 2 reps).
Apologies JonT & Ian ( another go Ian!!! :D ) Unlike JonT I don`t think I will be rushing to repeat this tomorrow!!!
Keeping Claudius`s place in boat 1 warm for him as per. :(

You're very welcome to the spot Spider 👍

No time (enthusiasm???) for another go for me, so glad to have someone push boat 1 a bit further up.
