New Challenge - Workout of the Day (WOD) Week Challenge

Post by JonT »

September 5–11

Concept2 have introduced a new challenge to the calendar - "Take part in a week of different workouts in our new WOD Week Challenge! Concept2 releases a new Workout of the Day (WOD) every day. For this challenge, you just need to complete the WOD on at least five days of WOD Week. The WODs will not be announced in advance, and could be anything from short, sharp shocks to longer, more endurance-based pieces. We hope you’ll join us in this challenge."

I am away on holiday so won't be participating, but I will set up the challenge on the Meterboard before I go if they have set up the results page by then.

Thanks for setting things up again, Jon.
I sort of discovered the WOD recently, have participated in some of them, and find the honorboard amusing, fun to check my position in my agegroup and country for instance.

I've never really looked at them and didn't realise there was an honour board for them. I think they have also integrated them into the latest version of Ergdata too haven't they?

That's right. I installed Ergdata and you just click on WOD and you can start the workout.

Day 3 already of this challenge. Should you start participating today you can still earn a certificate, though I don't think many FS's will join, I think most of them have their own schedule, plan or whatever.
Me, I'm more or less improvising on the ERG so it's easy for me to join this one. Something different for a change.

I did days 1 & 2 - there’s plenty of flexibility in my routine - haha. I don’t know about todays / I’m not super at SPM control!

I thought today's was quite a tough one, but it went alright. Tomorrow I don't have much time I think, but only have to do it two more days to meet the challenge. And that won't be a problem I think.

Jon, I see you've already introduced a symbol for this challenge, great, thanks.
Earned mine today on day 6 with a workout I thought was rather tough.
The description on the site: 16 intervals of 20 seconds work, with 10 seconds rest. Then rest for 3 minutes. Repeat the 16 intervals of 20 seconds work and 10 seconds rest.
The difference between 10 seconds and 20 is massive when you're doing this. Twenty seconds of rowing feels like hell in the end, the ten slow seconds seem to vanish in the blink of an eye.
Well, maybe because I find it hard to do, this work-out is a good one for me.

A busy work day on Saturday so I just didn’t make it to the gym - looks like I must do tomorrows but it actually doesn’t seem bad.
