With Wolfie and Dan sitting just 4 meters away I had to give this another shot. Managed to eek out an extra 8 meters to 991. At half way I was ready to hd. Backed off the pace for about 30 seconds and once I was under a minute to go I knew was going to make it to the end.

Ist row in nearly a month.
Picked up an injury v.early May and then a combination of hayfever/asthma which needed steroids to
get under control.
928 nearly killed me and nearly triggered the asthma again. ;-(
I looked at the pace before starting and thought to target 1:37 then read the bit about pace issues and so just rowed at what felt quite uncomfortable.
Final pace according to the CTC page 1:37.0 ;-)
Irregular socially competitive rower. (b. 1966) Always hated erging. Started again for excersise in lockdown.

Welcome back Paul - that's a good CTC effort.

Sorry to hear about your asthma - you could always try out for the INEOS(formerly SKY) cycling team - they are always on the lookout for asthmatics who have to take steroids to manage their condition
